Programming should be a seperate category from Science & Technology
Every time I am trying to find a programming or game development stream to watch (which is a very specific type of stream) I get lost in all the growing plants and raising chickens 24/7 streams. While on the other hand there are a lot of programming and or game development streams that really deserve their own category. Being a part of the live-coders community I feel that splitting science & technology in a more granular way would benefit everybody. Both in terms of search-ability and clarity.

Hi everyone!
We’re happy to announce that thanks to your feedback, we have created the Software and Game Development category! Thank you for all of your support around this idea.

Would love to see this change implemented! Not only as someone streaming, but also as a viewer: I often find it difficult to surface streams I'm interested in (programming/infra/engineering), and a category with tags that suit it would work very well for this!
If targeting is a concern, I'm sure ad buyers would also welcome this category/tag addition.

I think this is a great idea! Coding/Programming/Gaming Development, Software Development, etc has really grown on Twitch and I think we need to separate from the other stuff that ends up on the Science and Technology Category. Maybe call the new category "Development" I think that covers a good blanket of different stream types.

Please! let this be implemented.

Yes! I support this idea and I think a category named "Software Development" would fit better than "programming or coding" so it can fit all the streams related to I.T.
Allowing more programming tags will also help.

I strongly support this. The live coding community on Twitch is growing fast, and it is very different from the other "Science and Technology" channels.

I really support the idea and voted for yes, but Twitch removed the category Programming 2 years ago because of low rate of viewers... And we (live coders) spent a lot of time bring people to Science and Technology so it maybe have to be considered.
