Trans tag request
It is hard enough finding trans representation in our daily lives. With the LGBTQIA+ tag, one still needs to browse through channels and spend time in them to find trans streamers. A "trans" tag would help people searching for these communities.

Today we are rolling out 350+ tags, including the transgender tag, to provide you with more options on how you express yourself and your content, so that you can more easily connect with one another and build wonderful communities. We are really appreciative for all of the feedback around this topic (and other related suggestions).
We previously told you that we had a better solution to this request than adding the tag, and we were wrong. This has been one of the most popular requests we’ve heard, and the simple truth is that we should have done this sooner. In an effort to think carefully about how to best address this, we only made the situation more difficult. Again, thank you for helping us throughout this process in reevaluating our stance.
Please continue to share ideas and feedback you have to UserVoice, as well as any suggestions for additional tags you feel we may have missed! We are working to invest more into this forum and aim to have faster communications in the future.

It is very difficult to find other trans streamers to connect with on the platform and even outside of it. I should not have to leave the platform to find other creators I align with my gender identity
I agree with what another user posted as well - and that we already have twitch mod tools to moderate our chat.
Its not like people are forced to use specific tags. Those trolls are already in the lgbt tag.
I hope we see this and are not given excuses to easily fixable problems

To be completely honest, I don't see the point in it and to me it's counterintuitive and counterproductive. I thought twitch was about your character/personality and your content. Not what you identify as because what does that have to do with video games or whatever that person decides to do on twitch.

A Trans tag on twitch will not only bring more visibility to trans content creators but give viewers who want to support trans creators the ability to find them and support them!

This would be a great way for their communities to connect, shows a safe place for them. Trans community deserves representation and those content creators deserve a way to help build up their communities.

The trans community on twitch has been extremely vocal about their difficulties finding each other! A trans tag fosters community and marked safe places for engagement.

Our trans family deserve a tag not only for representation and fostering a community of creators, but to also serve as a way for trans viewers to be certain a stream will be welcoming

The Trans community on Twitch is large enough, and unique enough to solicit a tag. Trans viewers, who are seeking their community, should have a tag to make that search easier. The LGBTQIA+ is too broad for this. To deny this tag, out of concern for the streamer and their community is paternalism.

I think having a trans tag would be a good idea.
Might help trans streamers find other trans streamers to host, raid and share their communities with each other. -

The trans community is in need of a tag that represents the community and makes it accessible for the members to easily find trans streamers who they could relate to, connect with and support one another.
As a non-binary streamer, I find it really difficult to find folks under the trans umbrella within the LGBTQIA+ tag due to how flooded it gets by people of different experiences.
When it comes to gender identity, even other members of the LGBTQIA+ can't fully relate or understand the experiences that trans individuals go through, which is why it's very important for us to have our own space within Twitch.

This is absolutely 100% necessary. The LGBTQIA tag is a good start, but it is vast, occasionally gets used by allies in a misguided attempt to show support, and trans people in particular need a safe space and a way to find each other in the community, especially as they often face bigotry and hate even within the larger LGBTQ+ community. Twitch needs this.

I stand by the trans community and fully support the implementation of a trans tag. Having the general LGBTQIA+ tag is not enough for the trans community to connect together effectively and does not protect them from transphobia within the LGB community.

I am a TRANS WOMAN on twitch, and we NEED THIS NOW. It could literally save LIVES. Twitch claims to champion diversity, PROVE IT. Give us this tag that we've been asking for for forever. Drag got a tag, I know ya'll can make this happen... it's a CHOICE to give us worth as a demographic on your platform. Do the right thing.

This would be an amazing addition to Twitch! It's so important for trans representation to be able to get the feature it deserves and receive a category of its own. While LGBT+ tag is great, more specific tags can help viewers and streamers connect in a more meaningful way, and unfortunately there can still be transphobia in the LGB community. Having a trans tag would increase visibility and support for the trans community on Twitch!
