1. Stationery Stream Tags

   I stream "stationery" streams in the Makers & Crafting section. This includes things like showing how I write and decorate my journal, explain what makes a new fountain pen special, or set up my bullet journal for the new month. I'd love to see tags added for myself and others to make that content type stand out.

   These tags could include "Stationery," "Journaling," and "Planning." I know others in the community are interested in streaming stationery on Twitch, and I think this would help us build more of a community.

2. Add a Military Veteran Tag

   A veteran tag would allow the various veteran streaming communities to find each other, and assist each other better. Many veterans stream to help others fighting PTSD, trauma, and veteran suicide.

3. Vegan tag

   Would love to see a vegan tag so that we can connect with other vegan streamers, build our community and promote education and advocacy.
   It is always very exciting to find another vegan streamer in the wild. But it's very hard for us to reach each other on twitch as there are no community features that accommodate this. With plant-based nutrition becoming a growing market and the vegan movement getting larger day by day, I think that it would be nice for us to have a tag to further build that community.

5. Alcohol-free/sobriety

   There are many streamers who will drink on stream, talk about drinking on stream, or just generally talk about alcohol, which could be uncomfortable for others for many reasons. Would be awesome to be able to tag yourself as an alcohol-free or sober stream

6. StarCraft playable race tags

   The RTS games, StarCraft & StarCraft 2 feature 3 playable races: Zerg, Protoss, and Terran.

   Currently, there's no great way to filter the starcraft categories for streamers playing a particular race.

   The new tag system including every league of legends champion as a tag sets a precedent for this change and would improve viewing experience and discoverability.

7. Sound Bath Tag and Meditation Tag

   Hello!
   Myself and many other creators are streaming and creating sound baths in a few different categories and it would be great if people could find us and we could find each other, there have been many other generes of music added and sound baths would be great.
   Also to accompany this I suggest a meditation tag as there are many communities hosting meditation sessions and guided meditation sessions with and without sound baths.

8. Change the "Autism" community tag to "Autistic"

   The newly added "autism" tag from Twitch differs majorly from other community tags. Instead of focusing on people from the community specifically (such as the Blind, d/Deaf, Disabled, and many other tags), the tag calls on a "broad" autism community. The tag as it currently is will very likely result in usage by family members, friends, allies, and professionals in the autism world and end up minimizing actually autistic voices. In order to full uplift autistic voices, please change this tag to "autistic" or at least add an additional autistic tag.

10. Sensory-Friendly Tag

    Most average Twitch streams are not necessarily sensory-friendly for neurodivergent folks or just folks who prefer chiller spaces. I know we currently have a "cozy" space but cozy and sensory-friendly are not necessarily aligned.
    Sensory-friendly looks like no loud alerts, no shouting, calmer visuals, etc.

    I would love the opportunity to be able to communicate to other neurodivergent humans that my space will be safe for them and less likely to cause over-stimulation and I'm sure that other sensory-friendly creators would as well!

    With over 350 new tags added, I was immensely disappointed to see the lack of a tag for the Jewish community. Jewishness is an ethnoreligion, not just a religion, and we deserve to be able to find each other just like any other community.

    Bring back the ability to use regular tags. The custom tags are nice, but there is currently no option to use the tags we had access to before unless entering manually. The requirements for these custom tags (ie, no spaces) precludes some tags like 'body positive' or 'mental health'. Having the ability to choose from the multitude of tags that were recently introduced, as well as define user tags, just makes sense if you want to truly promote individuality. Using ONLY custom tags means that some people will be using tags no one else is, and therefore their streams will not be discovered. This is not in line with a commitment to user individuality and identity.

    Suggestions for custom tags (1) reduce the chances of manual errors made by streamers when adding tags to their stream info and (2) allow viewers to more-intuitively explore existing tags to find content relevant to their interests!

14. plural tag required

    recently, a large amount of tags were added to help identify the streamer, in my eyes a great idea for helping build communities of support. however, since most of these tags were put out suddenly in a large list, some of us feel like a very jarring tag was missed: Plural.
    Plurality is a complicated, varied concept, yet still a extremely important identifier for many of us. Currently, the only way for us to tag our plurality is with the "dissociative dissorder" tag, but this is not actually helpful, Dissociative dissorders are also complicated and varied, with many dissociative dissorders having no relation to plurality, and many forms of plurality having no link to dissociative dissorders. I therefore feel that a plural tag is highly required, i also think its important that the many different voices and minds of the plural community are listened to.

15. Tags to Filter by What Console is Being Played

    Consoles we are playing should have their own tags. It would help people who enjoy certain consoles to find content they love. This can apply to current generation games and retro. Since Retro is a category that is healthy and growing with lots of talented and incredible broadcasters, it would be cool to have tags based on the system we are playing to help discoverability. Since streaming in each game tends to make the experience more fragmented, people tend to stream under the general Retro category. When streaming under retro using a tag for the system you are playing could be helpful. Example tags could be;

    NES, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Virtual Boy, Gamecube, Wii, Sega Master System, Sega Genesis, Sega 32X, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, GameBoy, Amiga, DOS, Atari, Commodore 64, Original Xbox, Playstation, Playstation 2, Playstation Portable, etc.

    This is by no means an exhaustive list of console tags that could be made, but I wanted to at least get the idea going to see what people think. The idea would be every console should have its own tag.

16. Combine the 5 Phantasy Star Online categories

    The following titles are the original and ports/expansions of the same game:
    * Phantasy Star Online
    * Phantasy Star Online ver. 2 (expansion--note this is different than Phantasy Star Online 2 which is a different game and should be separate)
    * Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II (port + expansion)
    * Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II Plus (essentially just a patch!)
    * Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst (port + expansion)

    I and a few other PSO streamers realized how many fellow streamers of this game we were never aware of because there are streams in each of these categories, so combining them seems like a good idea so that our little community doesn't have to follow 5 versions. I believe other games (such as Pokémon flavors in the same generation, StarCraft II, etc.) have been combined before.

    The following titles are the original and ports/expansions of the same game:

17. Re-Instate Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate as a seperate category/directory

    A recent change to the IGDB classified Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate for the Switch as a 'version' of Monster Hunter Generations for the 3DS - removing the Generations Ultimate directory entirely from Twitch.
    This is a problem for quite a few streamers and viewers alike as the games provide entirely different and expanded experiences from one another, and viewers might search out someone playing the 3DS base game as opposed to the expanded iteration for the Switch that came later on.

    Most people playing either of these entries today are streaming "Generations Ultimate" for the Switch. It's a game that built on the original version of the game that released on the 3DS, and it has substantial changes like a variety of new bosses, a new story campaign, a further difficulty rank that nearly doubles the game's length, and expanded weapon controls that allow the weapons to play completely differently than in the base "Monster Hunter Generations" for the 3DS.

    People who are going back to the 3DS version these days are looking to experience the base-game without Generations Ultimate's inclusions. Again, this is a very different experience than how the 'expanded' Generations Ultimate is to play through with all its additions.

    As it stands, with the Generations Ultimate category being removed most streamers have to mis-categorize their Generations Ultimate streams from the Switch as "Generations" for the 3DS. All their VODs which have used the "Generations Ultimate" category can no longer be found by viewers searching for that game to watch, and folks who follow the more popular "Generations Ultimate" category may not easily know to follow the "Generations" for 3DS category in order to keep finding the streams they want to watch.

    I've talked with the IGDB folks in their Discord, and this unfortunately isn't a database issue. Generations Ultimate definitely is an iterated-on expansion of the base-game Generations, but it's not a different version of the same game.

    These two games are very different, and only offering the less-used basegame "Generations" category as a way for streamers to present their broadcasts and for viewers to find the entertainment they want isn't a good solution.

    With the growing software developer communities on Twitch, we would like to add some tags to help with discoverability. Please consider the following tags:

    • Desktop Development
    • Programming Language: C#
    • Programming Language: C++

19. Add Game Genre Filters

    Please add the ability to filter games by genre so for instance If I click on the games tab I would then be met with the ability to filter the game list by genre of game (Adventure, RTS, MMO, etc) this would allow users to find the content they feel like viewing much more easily and would allow streamers who are not streaming top viewed games far more exposure with the current system if you are not streaming a one of the games near the top of the game list there is almost no chance of anyone finding your channel unless they search directly for the game you are playing which lets be honest isn't very likely. I feel this small change could make a world of difference to a lot of streams and viewers allowing them much easier access to games they may not of been aware of. The system could be easily implemented by having a pull down tab of genres next to the game name section in your stream setup or something of that nature.

    Please add the ability to filter games by genre so for instance If I click on the games tab I would then be met with the ability to filter the game list by genre of game (Adventure, RTS, MMO, etc) this would allow users to find the content they feel like viewing much more easily and would allow streamers who are not streaming top viewed games far more exposure with the current system if you are not streaming a one of the games near the top of the game list there is almost no chance of anyone finding your channel… more

20. plus size tag

    I think it's great that 'body positive' will now be one of the stream tags, but it would be helpful to also include 'plus size' as one of the stream tags. Body positivity can represent a wide range of body types, however this would most likely not highlight those that are on the higher end of the spectrum. Those that are a size 20+. It would also give greater visibility to a group that is often marginalized within society. Adding 'plus size' as one of the tags will take the 'body positive' tag one step further and help those who are plus size find their communities easier.
