  1. Having just had our previous campaign closed, stating that this is now solved by CUSTOM TAGS, this is absolutely not the case.

Twitch has always had music tags such as: Trance, House, Techno, Dubstep and others which sit directly underneath the Main Music Category.

Drum & Bass is equally as large a community on Twitch as any of those categories, and instead of enabling us to unify through a central music category, you state that Custom Tags is enough. It is not. It spreads our community out through all the general misspellings; eg. DNB, Drumandbass, Drumnbass, Jungle, Liquid, Neurofunk, Ragga,…

  2. Today Twich tags were changed from English to katakana.
I want it back to the way it was.
From a Japanese point of view, it looks odd.
League of Legends is League of Legends, Valorant is Valorant in Japan.

  3. With the increase in available tags, it would be wonderful to be able to pick more than 5 tags.

Could we get an increase in the amount of possible tags, so we don't have to struggle over which tags we want to go with? Like say, 10?

  4. The tag search currently allows only one tag at a time, which shouldn't be.
For example: I want to search channels with the tags "Action" and "RPG", however the tag search doesn't add those tags up. I can either search for "Action" or "RPG", not both at the same time.
My suggestion is simple and self explanatory: multiple tag search.

  5. The autofill is utterly useless because it shows pretty much every iteration that anyone has ever used. This means misspellings, multiple different versions of what should be one tag, anything you start to put in brings up way too many options.
The tag suggestions need to be a smaller set so that people end up using the same tag as each other and are actually searchable once again. The large list of tags that we had is a great place to start, especially as we can still ignore the suggestions and type our own things.
    Otherwise, these suggestions really don't…

  6. Allow streamers to set their identity tags & accessibility tags (captions etc) and forget about them without them resetting after the time period.

These can then not count towards the 5 tag limit which can be used to describe the content of the stream. Identity rarely changes, so allow them to be toggleable by the streamer. Most people who will use these tags will want to be able to show off their entire identity as well as their other content tags so this would be a great way to do that! It also allows streamers to show off their accessibility…

  7. Please give us the option to have a space in formatting for custom tags, so they don't all appear as one word. As someone who is visually impaired, this is very difficult to read when multi word tags are not spaced out.

    ie.
    CustomTags vs "Custom Tags"

  8. Already at launch we are seeing how the new 350+ identity tags can fracture communities. Streamers who used to be able to be found using the "LGBTQIA+" tag are opting to use the more specific tags within that spectrum making it harder to find them if you don't know which specific tag to look for.

If a user applies a tag like "trans", "********", "gay", etc their stream should automatically have the "LGBTQIA+" tag applied to it. This change would allow streamers to represent their content through their identity while maintaining the strength of a larger community and increase discoverability…

  9. With the new tag system, streamers can have up to 10 tags and can write custom tags, while the old system only allowed for 5 tags picked from a list. This a huge improvement, however this change also brought a lot of downgrades that overall makes the system less useful for streamers and viewers.

With the old system, a new streamer or viewer can type keywords and Twitch shows suggestions from the list of preset tags. For streamers, this helps them discover what they could do to make their stream stand out and know what viewers may search for. For…

  10. I think something changed semi-recently, so that when you try to filter by language, it shows you literally exactly 100 options, but none of them are right, and often have different results. For example, when I try to filter channels in English in a Browse, the top 8 options are "ënglish" "englísh" "englis h" "ENGLISH" "engLish" "ENGlish" "englisH" What is the utility of this? How am I supposed to determine the correct one when there are 100 options? None of them just say "English"

  11. Lately there have been too many streamers misrepresenting their content with incorrect tags, using them only because the tags are popular and bring them more attention. These are streamers who ALREADY hold 99% of the viewership on Twitch, and they don't need to be stealing it from communities where they don't belong. This is unacceptable and I believe there need to be penalties for such actions.

Since Twitch refuses to suspend/ban their cash cows though, I propose an alternative solution. Implement a way to gatekeep them from using the tags. If they've been reported and investigated for tag misrepresentation and…

  12. The removal of the previously pre-set list of tags to choose from was definitely not the way to go.

Having custom tags is great for a number of reasons such as having a niche/indie stream, but removing the preceding list and the ability to easily choose pre-determined tags only makes things unnecessarily inconvenient for people who were perfectly fine with the tags that were available before.

Now it adds just that much more time to setting up a stream by having to write every tag in its entirety. It also affects streamers who do things like speedruns because now they…

  13. You could put an option to ban tags with LGTV content in recommendations. It's very annoying to keep showing these channels in the feeds.

  14. Trying to decide which variation on a tag to use can be guesswork in the current system. When entering a tag, the function should show similar tags in use and indicate in some way which tags are popularly used and/or searched, such as number of live streams with the tag. Platforms such as Twitter have a similar feature when entering a hashtag.

  15. Before you could search for one tag + one language. Now if you are trying to discover streams through a certain tag (such as the vtuber tag) it's impossible to search for a language + that tag, I imagine since they are all considered "custom" tags now. Widely used languages have a generally accepted names. You could even make a new "type" of tag for languages, and keep the old custom ones so everyone wins.

  16. The LGBTQ community uses a number of short forms that all mean the same thing like LGBTQ LGBTQ+ LGBTQIA and so on the system reads each of these searches as different tags.

The new tag system is great but I have to use 5 tags one for bisexual and 4 for spelling variation on LGBTQ or I miss anyone who's searching a different spelling.

My solution on your profile allow you to set these commonly used types of tags. Gender, Sexuality, Pronouns, Ethnicity.

These are tags I see alot that get reused every stream and take up slots that could…

  18. Currently, there is no way to use the Helix API to inspect the custom tags of a given stream. Previously, with the preset tag list, the Get-Streams endpoint (https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#get-streams) would include an array of tag_ids, which could then be inspected to filter streams automatically. This is still included in responses, and still contains the language tag, but doesn't include any information on custom tags.

This is an issue because bots which previously relied upon the pre-set tag list to filter streams can no longer use tag information at all, because they cannot see custom tags in any way.
