How it works:
  • Choose a relevant category for your idea and check to see if any other users have already submitted this suggestion before creating your own
  • Be clear with your suggestion, provide examples and solutions to the problem you are posing. Suggestions without actionable feedback may be closed without comment
  • Upvote existing ideas, as opposed to creating multiple similar requests
  • Be sure to share your suggestion with others to gain more support!
  • Note: Suggestions are not guarantees that we will take action on an idea. We will try our best to communicate why an idea may not work, but may not always be able to share that information.
  • Titles that are unclear or unnecessarily vulgar may be reworded to better reflect the request for ease of discovery

  1. When multiple channel point redeems are redeemed many times (by one or more users), the chat should not be spammed with
    "<User> redeemed <redeem name> <cost>"

All the chat messages are getting flooded if theres a wave of redemptions (which can be fun and engaging!). They should be collapsed into a single line eg.
    "<User1>, <User2>, and 6 others redeemed <redeem name> <cost> x15"
This existing message should update and increment every time a new identical redemption is done in the next minute (probably starting from the first redemption).

This way its only going to be a single line instead…

  2. I would love to see a site wide discoverability feature that universally lets me or any user "hide streams that are all 18+ content. " With a very simple toggle button to hide those channels.

In addition to this, having all 18+ content not visible in any discovery page if a user is not logged in to the site.

to clarify: 18 plus content may or may not include political or sensitive topics, graphic video games, or catergories etc.

Being able to quickly toggle and categorize these channels either universally help create targeted ads for these channels, potentially turn ads…

  3. My suggestion is for the small channels and for those who are starting with Twitch. It is very difficult to start your community and that's why Twitch could implement a system in which viewers would be rewarded for watching channels that are with few viewers like 1 to 5 or 5 to 10...
These rewards could be an exclusive random emotes or 'Twitch Prime' of short duration (a few hours or days) in which viewers could choose their streamer to give a prime subscription or be able to exchange for bits to send your message.
    Other types of rewards can…

  4. It would be nice to disable the preview thumbnail for a recently released title. Often when a new game comes out many streamers that I follow play it. For some games (particularly story driven titles) the preview thumbnails might contain spoilers.

So what if you had the option in your setting to disable the preview thumbnail for a period of time around a games release? For example any time before the official release and for 2 weeks after. It could be replaced with just about anything really, the streamers profile pic, the game's logo, a black screen, etc...

  5. Apart from being able to select streams by view count, high to low and vice versa, why not make a different category for smaller streamers in games to separate from bigger streamers, allowing the smaller streamers to watch among themselves and build up their audience without having to compete for spotlight from bigger viewer capture-ers.

  6. Add game developer names underneath the game you are on and when you search the name of a game developer it will bring up all games they developed.

  7. Hello Guys,
I am new on this developer board, however recently I had a small Idea that I would like to pitch to twitch and would be happy to assist in the implementation of such, as I do have the necessary contacts to do so.

I noticed that this platform has been branching out and trying to reach more people with their contents (see creative).
I think it would be a good idea to implement lectures on different subjects as stream aswell. Here we could cooperate with different universitys (which mostly record their lectures) and their professors to get lectures…

  8. Since only Partners can run a Stream team, and since "communities" can't be shown on the stream page easily anymore. It'd be really good to have something like "Guild" or "Guild Play" or "Guilded Gaming" something along those lines to be able to denote a stream featuring Players from the same guild doing things. This would also allow guilds to showcase their gameplay and let people look at streams in a game that are featuring such gameplay to find guilds that they would mesh with personality wise!

  9. Allow Small Streamers with Twitch Turbo to Provide Viewers an Ad Free Experience.

Growth is hard, especially as a small streamer. Twitch Turbo is an existing feature that isn't well advertised but it could be used to an even greater benefit for both Streamers and Twitch. By giving streamers who are subscribed with Twitch Turbo who have less than a certain amount of typical concurrent viewers to provide their content to viewers without pre-rolls, it would enable both better growth for the streamer and more profit to Twitch to cover costs.

30% of new viewers leave a stream before a…

  11. I have an idea for increasing Discoverability on the platform. Twitch already tracks what channels users already watch which then is used to recommend viewers to new "similar" channels that they might enjoy, but from my experience very few people actually take the initiative to go into their channel and watch. I think that for this approach to work you need to brute force people into trying out new streams by having a sort of "reward" system where you get rewarded in either bits or subs to the creator by watching for longer periods of time. This will make more…

  12. click on a button that say "rotate". what this does is, every 5 minutes (or whatever is decided) you automatically switch to a random channel that you follow continuously.

  13. Add little flags for the country of the the language the channel is in. Too many times have I entered a channel that looks entertaining and come to find out it's in a language that I don't understand. This would help a lot! :-)

  14. It seems a good idea to connect viewers to streamers from their own country. cultural dependencies can be capitalized on, right twitch?

  15. Provide a filter to sort by languages. I'm tired of seeing 80% of the content not be accessible to me because I don't know the language of the stream.

  18. For me, I like to discover new and unique streamers and streams but it's difficult to find and scroll all the channels by going back and forth on pages. Is there any way to implement a feature in the browse tap that is similar to the front page of twitch, that can switch to the next stream in one click. Also trying to randomize the switch to get more awareness to newer and smaller streams looking to get a chance to experience what it's like to have greater viewer count on their channel. This can help the streamer to learn…

  19. I think there should be a category where streamers get put into this "red hot" zone, where they will be exposed more on the directory when in hardcore "endgame" situations and will present themselves to new audiences.
