Please make us able to select a default page for when the Twitch App loads up.

As no doubt many others did, this app was oriignally used as an AddOn updated for World of Warcraft, now we're forced to view so much useless streams and games every time the app loads up, and on top of that we have to then move over to the mods tab, select WoW, then again select which version of the game we want to update for (PTR, Beta, Live, other servers etc - even if you disable updating for them!), and THEN update the AddOns.

tl;dr: Let us select a default page/game for load up, specifically the WoW AddOn page for the live game in this case.

New streamers that are grinding out their new streams and putting in the time, money and resources required to build a successful stream would grow more quickly and become long-term reliable content providers if Twitch could implement one simple change to their platform.

Currently ONLY streamers with high viewer counts are profiled and listed at the top of the platform when browsing the live channels or categories. For a new streamer to be seen, a viewer must scroll down (WAY DOWN) to the bottom of the streamers list.

Twitch should create 5 small thumbnails (Labeled something like "New Streamers To Watch" or "Up & Coming Streamers to Watch" etc.) and place them in the top right (or left) upper corner of the page when loaded. (The five thumbnails should always stay at the top of the page even as people scroll through the category or live stream lists.

When a viewer mouse-overs the thumbnail, it could pop-out and show a larger view of the new streamers as they stream. If clicked, the viewer would be taken to the stream.

So, to give an example of how this would be a HUGE benefit to the new streamer, this is how it would work:

1.) Any new streamer that has been streaming less than 12 months and who has less than 25 active viewers while they are streaming would be placed in a queue with other new streamers in their category and they would begin to cycle into the thumbnail slots every 10-15 seconds.

So, every 60 seconds at least 20-30 new streamers have positive exposure to a new audience that could lead to more Followers and help to grow their stream. This would provide a huge boost to new streamers and motivate them to grow their streams and not get discouraged before they have a chance to grow.

As a new streamer, this is just my opinion of something that would help "me" and hopefully other new streamers as well.

The idea is simple. More views = More market share = More ad revenue, right?

People tend to watch the same streamers and it becomes a routine. In order to maximize the amount of time a viewer spends on Twitch, it would make sense to reward viewers to tune into new streams so they are able to find more streams they may potentially like, which in turn increase ad views on the platform in general. By giving people an incentive to diversify their viewing habits, you are encouraging viewers to find more streams they like. The time a viewer spends on Twitch will go up without them even noticing! It would also make Twitch more interesting for the viewer and help the viewer be immersed in the Twitch community. For example, think of it as a buffet. If you know there are a lot of offerings you enjoy, then you are more likely to go back often and recommend it to your friends. Anything stagnant becomes uninteresting and in today's society, where there are so many options to spend your free time, it would be in Twitch's best interest to showcase a variety of streams to a viewer so they stay on the platform longer.

My suggestion is that Twitch keep a log or history of a user's viewing activity. You can indicate a new stream as 1) a never-before-seen streamer or 2) a streamer the viewer has not watched within the past 6 months. If a user views a new streamer for 15+ minutes, you should offer a reward and maybe have an option that lets them consider following the streamer as well. You should keep a 15+ minute requirement for new streams because it would force viewers to give the new streams a real chance. A viewer won't be able to determine if they really like a stream or not if they don't watch it for a fair amount of time.

Twitch can also potentially make more money off this new viewer reward system too. For example, if a viewer ends up subscribing to a new streamer through the reward program, you can potentially take a higher cut of that subscription fee because Twitch basically marketed that new streamer to the subscriber. It's the same way OpenTable charges restaurants for dining reservations. Nowadays, restaurants can choose to pay anywhere from $1 to $5 per diner and OpenTable will market a restaurant heavily if the restaurant chooses to pay them more per cover.

My proposal is to set up a channel similar to AlwaysOn that broadcasts the top 100 purchased songs on Amazon Music. A countdown of the top ranked daily playlist could be cycled through and, for those who have Twitch Prime, free daily song requests of any Amazon Music song. Another possibility path to take would be hourly give aways of a few songs worth of Amazon Music gift certificates. With both being used, I feel that the requests will get the people into the channel, and the give aways will keep them listening longer. And as always...giving everyone another reason to buy Prime.

Hi, I have a suggestion that will link together discord and twitch very well which I hope can be taken into consideration. There was a suggestion I read on the discord forums about allowing a user to see who people are watching on twitch

The suggestion got 64 votes and it would be nice if it were to be implemented. However the problem is that an admin replied to a similar suggestion stating that twitch has not provided an API for this and so it could not be possible unless twitch provides an API for it. I think it would work well alongside the twitch app and will also add a new feature. I’m sure this will be beneficial for a lot of twitch and discord users and hope to see it implemented.
