Trans tag request
It is hard enough finding trans representation in our daily lives. With the LGBTQIA+ tag, one still needs to browse through channels and spend time in them to find trans streamers. A "trans" tag would help people searching for these communities.

Today we are rolling out 350+ tags, including the transgender tag, to provide you with more options on how you express yourself and your content, so that you can more easily connect with one another and build wonderful communities. We are really appreciative for all of the feedback around this topic (and other related suggestions).
We previously told you that we had a better solution to this request than adding the tag, and we were wrong. This has been one of the most popular requests we’ve heard, and the simple truth is that we should have done this sooner. In an effort to think carefully about how to best address this, we only made the situation more difficult. Again, thank you for helping us throughout this process in reevaluating our stance.
Please continue to share ideas and feedback you have to UserVoice, as well as any suggestions for additional tags you feel we may have missed! We are working to invest more into this forum and aim to have faster communications in the future.

Would it really be so hard to just add a tag? I want to support my brothers and sisters living their lives as them, what better way to find and support them than a searchable tag? Seriously, you're either here for the whole LGBTQIA+ community or none, you can't pick and choose.

This shouldn't take this long, there are tags for EVERY individual league of legends character and you can't even add a trans tag after multiple years. You keep making up excuses there are 10 THOUSAND votes for this and you still won't add it.

Having a trans tag shouldn't be a question. I am not trans but I believe that we need this tag to boost and recognize more trans creators.

"We still do not have anything to share, but the team is reading all of your feedback to take into consideration"
Will you *ever* have anything to share Twitch? You've implemented ideas and tags for stuff that have had much less votes than this one!
Do you really care about trans people? Or do you just want to make a profit from us then shun us off the platform when we've outlived our 'usefulness' as a profit making tool for you?

I don’t understand how you can go this long without any kind of response or recognition to this request. There are so many people that want this and the very least you can do is address it instead of just ignoring us. You’re not following through with your promises, and truly making a trans tag is so simple and important. I can’t believe this hasn’t been done yet.

Why is this even a question? Why would this not be a tag option?

There is literally 1,264 comments stating the importance of this tag. Just do it. It's not that hard.

The transgender community wants a tag to be able to identify themselves and find each other more easily. The reasons given in the past for not having this tag didn't make a whole lot of sense, especially when the community itself wants this tool.

We aren't asking for anything more than having the ability to find one another on a platform that we care about a lot. I know there are two reasons why Twitch pushes back against the tag. The first being safety, they are worried it will invite more harassment.
As a developer of Peer2Peer.live, I can assure you that it doesn't lead to an increased level of harassment. Its actually quite the opposite. When communities can find one another, they are able to bolster their defenses. Stronger communities can defend each other in a much more meaningful and powerful way.
The other reason Twitch pushes back against the trans tag is that "tags should reflect content". The thing is many of us who are trans center our identities as part of our content, we discuss important issues and our experiences sometimes integrating them with the games that we play.
When people come to Twitch, they aren't just here to watch someone play a game. They want to connect with someone that resonates with who they are. The platform has greatly evolved specially given the pandemic we've all been going through,
Twitch became an important place for people to connect with one another and find their communities that they couldn't go to in person anymore. For many people finding those connections is life changing and even life saving.
There is a huge untapped market that Twitch is missing out on because their narrative is still focused on being for gaming, when they should really be a Gaming and Lifestyle brand.
By bringing lifestyle into the mix, they can go much further than they ever have before and really differentiate themselves from their competitors. This would be a huge boon not only for community development but for overall profits for the company. Its win win for everyone. How can that be a bad thing?
