Trans tag request
It is hard enough finding trans representation in our daily lives. With the LGBTQIA+ tag, one still needs to browse through channels and spend time in them to find trans streamers. A "trans" tag would help people searching for these communities.

Today we are rolling out 350+ tags, including the transgender tag, to provide you with more options on how you express yourself and your content, so that you can more easily connect with one another and build wonderful communities. We are really appreciative for all of the feedback around this topic (and other related suggestions).
We previously told you that we had a better solution to this request than adding the tag, and we were wrong. This has been one of the most popular requests we’ve heard, and the simple truth is that we should have done this sooner. In an effort to think carefully about how to best address this, we only made the situation more difficult. Again, thank you for helping us throughout this process in reevaluating our stance.
Please continue to share ideas and feedback you have to UserVoice, as well as any suggestions for additional tags you feel we may have missed! We are working to invest more into this forum and aim to have faster communications in the future.

Adding support for formal terms that would be easily seen would be much appretiated as well to prevent improper misgendering of many communities.

Transgender people still face phobias and exclusion even from within LGBTQIA+ culture. A tag of their own on Twitch will help give them the support and validation they deserve just like all other content creators and our communities, and help bring those who wish to understand the struggles and support trans people through it.
Twitch can be a strong base of strength in these difficult and uncertain times in which transgender people are more susceptible to discrimination, fear, and unsubstantiated hatred. They deserve a safe place to go and feel empowered expressing themselves, too!

Fantastic idea! As a trans streamer myself, being able to find and network with other trans streamers more easily would be amazing!

100% the amount of trans hate that circulates on twitch needs to be filtered out. This is a good start for safe spaces for our friends.

LGBTQIA+ is a great start, but I'm going to be honest. The T is 9 times out of 10 IGNORED when we put certain types of LGBTQIA+ people on higher pedestals than others. Trans people need more visibility. BIPOC Trans people as well. Visibility matters.

The trans community on Twitch is consistently relegated to the sidelines, without support or assistance or tools from Twitch to allow them to organize, create larger communities, and prosper. A tag, or some other way for communities to coordinate without the need for a "team", is sorely needed, and the Trans community deserves that opportunity.

It’s a wonderful idea to uplift and support our more marginalized ***** family. My only concern is people utilizing the Trans tag to target more vulnerable individuals with either trolling, or unwanted fetishizing advances.
However, I think that’s up to us as a community to stop bullying where we see it, and Twitch to take bans, harassment, etc. very seriously particularly in sensitive cases like these.
Bright blessings! 🌙

Twitch repeatedly promotes and makes a point to it's streamers to support and foster our communities, this is our community.
Even within the "security" of the LGBTQIA+ community, trans streamers face a tremendous amount of negative attention and the addition of a trans tag would make it easier for trans streamers to find each other, giving them the ability to build a support network that they feel is most suitable for their own streaming communities.
Being a trans streamer can be scary and isolated, the simple addition of the trans tag can reduce that stress on a valuable and tragically under-represented group of talented streamers, it makes no sense to not impliment it in my view.

With LGBTQIA+ being such a broad terminology, it is important for our trans members to have visibility to the twitch community and people seeking a streamer they can relate to, and someone they can comfortably visit and feel like they are not alone.

It is incredibly important that we provide Visibility and support for our Trans brothers, sisters, and in-betweens. The LGBTQIA+ and Drag communities would not exist without Trans people.
