Trans tag request
It is hard enough finding trans representation in our daily lives. With the LGBTQIA+ tag, one still needs to browse through channels and spend time in them to find trans streamers. A "trans" tag would help people searching for these communities.
Today we are rolling out 350+ tags, including the transgender tag, to provide you with more options on how you express yourself and your content, so that you can more easily connect with one another and build wonderful communities. We are really appreciative for all of the feedback around this topic (and other related suggestions).
We previously told you that we had a better solution to this request than adding the tag, and we were wrong. This has been one of the most popular requests we’ve heard, and the simple truth is that we should have done this sooner. In an effort to think carefully about how to best address this, we only made the situation more difficult. Again, thank you for helping us throughout this process in reevaluating our stance.
Please continue to share ideas and feedback you have to UserVoice, as well as any suggestions for additional tags you feel we may have missed! We are working to invest more into this forum and aim to have faster communications in the future.

First, let me thank you for taking the time to respond to us regarding this topic. I'm glad that we are all on the same page in that we all deeply care about this request.
That said, your response is a customer service non-answer. The community has offered a solution that, for whatever reason, has been determined at the corporate level not to be an implementable solution.
As you stated previously, this is a request that you "have been thinking about for some time now." Yet, Twitch hasn't provided any solution other than to say, "we aren't ready to share details just yet." That sounds like another non-answer.
Without some transparency about Twitch's process with members of the community, we have no way of knowing why Twitch makes the choices it does or if Twitch is working on anything in the first place.
As it stands right now, I believe that Twitch would be served best by implementing separate Tags under the LGBTQIA+ umbrella so that it is easier to find content creators who fall under a specific part of LGBTQIA+. If Twitch decides, later on, to implement other solutions down the line that are better than Tags, then it can do so. However, now, Tags are the solution we have readily available, and it should see immediate implementation.

How hard is it to add a tag? Just add it!

Stop telling marginalized communities what they need and start listening to what they tell you they need.

ADD THE TAG NOW! The response above from Twitch is actually gross. There's no reason for there to not be a Trans tag at this point. Do better.

We need to create a safe space for all and this tag will help let trans people as well as other in the community it’s a safe place for LGBTQUIA+

How can we possibly be any clearer? Twitch has the capabilities to implement this tag so easily but is still responding with “no, wait.” Actual Trans people are telling twitch exactly what they need, with the support of the LGBTQIA+ community and allies, and twitch refuses to meet this simple demand. Does twitch even have any Trans employees working on this request?
Even if twitch has a “better” long-term solution, the Trans tag should be implemented now, and the long-term solution should be worked on with a diverse group of Trans people who use twitch, and they should be paid for their time. Please do not assume you know what is best for the Trans community.

Add the tag now. Unbelievable disrespect, disregard and unfounded righteousness to claim that twitch knows a "better solution" or how to "get things right" more so than the thousands of people telling them exactly what they need.

Add this tag.

Lol. You have so many tags that literally no one uses here on twitch. This is the one tag that people ARE asking for.
Even if you are looking into a better solution long term for the community, just do the trans tag now. People are asking for it. Stop blatantly ignoring the needs of the trans community.

This response is whack! This needs to happen immediately, no questions asked. As a new, *****, non-binary streamer, and trans ally, I find the LGBTQIA+ tag to be a blanket tag. Starting with a "trans" tag, there should honestly be separate tags for each letter in this acronym in order for like-minded individuals to support their fellow streamers, and most importantly find safe spaces to connect with each other without having to fish through the sea of those using the blanket LGBTQIA+ tag. Get it together Twitch!

wouldn’t implementing a tag be an easy stopgap solution until this new “better solution” is finished? or will you just admit you don’t actually care about the trans community and just want representation brownie points

If you are avoiding adding a trans tag because you think it will attract harassment, we already all made that choice when we came out. It is not your choice to make and it looks just as bad as when tiktok suppressed LGBT content for the same reason.

Can you please stop messing around and giving the "we don't know anything about you but we no best" attitude and just give us the one thing we actually want and have been asking for for years!
Our Trans tag.
It's important. It helps us find each other so we can support each other.
By not doing this you are not supporting the trans community one bit.
Pull your finger out please.

How very typical of cis people to decide they know what's best for us. Not surprised but still very disappointed.

What a joke of a reply. There is a LGBT tag. There is now a Drag tag. The ONLY answer is to make the tag. As a gay man and ally, I don’t understand why it’s taken almost a year to get a reply to this thread from a community mod.
