Trans tag request
It is hard enough finding trans representation in our daily lives. With the LGBTQIA+ tag, one still needs to browse through channels and spend time in them to find trans streamers. A "trans" tag would help people searching for these communities.
Today we are rolling out 350+ tags, including the transgender tag, to provide you with more options on how you express yourself and your content, so that you can more easily connect with one another and build wonderful communities. We are really appreciative for all of the feedback around this topic (and other related suggestions).
We previously told you that we had a better solution to this request than adding the tag, and we were wrong. This has been one of the most popular requests we’ve heard, and the simple truth is that we should have done this sooner. In an effort to think carefully about how to best address this, we only made the situation more difficult. Again, thank you for helping us throughout this process in reevaluating our stance.
Please continue to share ideas and feedback you have to UserVoice, as well as any suggestions for additional tags you feel we may have missed! We are working to invest more into this forum and aim to have faster communications in the future.
Please check out our blog post for more info: https://blog.twitch.tv/en/2021/05/26/celebrate-yourself-and-your-community-with-350-new-tags/

Dear Twitch, please sort this out! It isn't a big job, but it is VERY important!

It’s important to recognize that with this request comes equal standards that Twitch will need to meet. I feel that the better solution here would be to keep the LBGTQ+ tag and add a SUB TAG of the preferred sexual orientation the streamer wants to be recognized as. That way everyone in the LBGTQ+ has an equal opportunity to take part in this change. Just because trans are rarer to find it doesn’t mean we should be biased. We are all still “members” of the Queer family. Requesting a specific trans tag WILL bring issues to the platform. We’re better off requesting a sub tag in which everyone can have the option to choose from. The problem with the LBGTQ+ tag currently is that allies of the community are tagging themselves within it. That’s not what the tag is for.... If you’re not a member of the community you shouldn’t be “categorizing” yourself under the tag. With all of that being said, voting for this is still a must! It’s still something that needs awareness to be brought up about. 🏳️🌈

It's really bewildering to me that we still haven't seen any update or action on this. Please add this tag. A tag would BY FAR be the easiest way for trans people to find other trans people on Twitch.

Having a safe space for those who stream is very important. Especially to the trans streamers. As an ally, I would love to see trans people be lifted onto this platform with love and support and be accepted for who they are!

@lady_faelloryn no. Allies are already perfectly visible and nobody needs any more clout for simply giving trans people basic respect. That's what everyone should be doing anyway. No more hero cookies and free social capital for doing the bare minimum.

Hi, i feel like when you responded that you are taking all the feedback into consideration that it is a lie. The reason why is because everyone here is wanting a trans tag so that they could label themselves properly. yall say that we have to be patient bu i would like to point out that yall took away tags very fast such as the blind playthrough tag because it "offended people" when really it didnt offend anyone and then yall replaced the tags yall took out with brand new tags that people can use in substitute. So the question is, if Twitch can create and take away tags in a blink of an eye, then what is taking yall so long to create a simple trans tag to help label themselves accordingly?

I really want a trans tag so that I can find and support trans streamers as an ally and a Demisexual.

This is so desperately needed. Trans folks need to find streamers like themselves and this will help with safety. The LGBTQIA tag is not sufficient.

@lady_faelloryn No, if we ever do get the tag, it is meant for trans people to find people like ourselves.

Would it be ok to use this tag as a Trans Ally?

It's so crazy that there's still nothing to be done, it's amazing that there's an LGBTQIA+ tag to find those within the community but it's ridiculous that there is still no trans tag still, including the tag provides a safe space. For those that do stream, lets spread more awareness by including commands and help those within our communities and get as much notability as possible.

Definitely weird its not an option in the first place....

There's a drag tag but not a trans tag. Really shows you who they actually care about

Still haven't done this? It is very silly at this point. Look at all these comments and all these votes. What's stopping ya?

"...reading all of [our] feedback to take into consideration" really doesn't cut it at this point. If you care so deeply, then just implement. The. ****. Tag. Hear us. See us. Actually move forward and make this a safer place for all of us trans streamers and viewers!

Even though its great that theres an LGBTQIA+ tag in twitch, there definitely needs to be alot more representation in the trans community!! I feel a twitch tag that represents trans streamers would be an excellent addition to Twitch!!

I just want to know why this STILL hasn’t happened??? Why is it such a struggle to get a tag that helps streamers and viewers feel seen and supported? Stop dragging your feet and get this done, Twitch. Until then, imma keep tweeting.
