Trans tag request
It is hard enough finding trans representation in our daily lives. With the LGBTQIA+ tag, one still needs to browse through channels and spend time in them to find trans streamers. A "trans" tag would help people searching for these communities.
Today we are rolling out 350+ tags, including the transgender tag, to provide you with more options on how you express yourself and your content, so that you can more easily connect with one another and build wonderful communities. We are really appreciative for all of the feedback around this topic (and other related suggestions).
We previously told you that we had a better solution to this request than adding the tag, and we were wrong. This has been one of the most popular requests we’ve heard, and the simple truth is that we should have done this sooner. In an effort to think carefully about how to best address this, we only made the situation more difficult. Again, thank you for helping us throughout this process in reevaluating our stance.
Please continue to share ideas and feedback you have to UserVoice, as well as any suggestions for additional tags you feel we may have missed! We are working to invest more into this forum and aim to have faster communications in the future.
Please check out our blog post for more info: https://blog.twitch.tv/en/2021/05/26/celebrate-yourself-and-your-community-with-350-new-tags/

Stop being ducks and support the trans community

As a trans woman I am absolutely disgusted with Twitch on how they STILL have yet to bring us a trans tag! March 31st is Trans Day of Visibility and the best thing we could've gotten as close to appreciation and visibility was a tag that Twitch can simply make happen but CLEARLY chooses not to. I feel as though I can safely speak for the trans community when I say that for a day in honor of the visibility we should receive daily, all we wanted to do was celebrate and support more trans siblings on this platform. Instead of us seeing a few people wanting to speak up about the holiday or do makeup looks inspired by the trans colors, we should've been able to see more siblings in our community however exactly how is a trans individual able to easily find another trans individual? Well we can't that's how! Bringing a trans tag on Twitch would help us do just that! The fact that I'm a trans woman who is affiliated with Twitch makes me question whether or not Twitch is something I wanna continue to do in the future. This platform has COUNTLESS tags and most of them make zero sense as to why they've even been created and yet we're still fighting to be heard on this platform.

Trans people deserve to be able to easily find content creators like them. You don't have to worry about trolls, or people anti you in these spaces. They are SO important, and allowing easier access to them is a positive! Visibility and representation are something we all need, so why deny it to them?

Make a trans tag so that the trans community can find one another! The fact that you all haven't properly addressed this other than some reasoning for "protection" is absolutely asinine.

The Only hate I feel on Twitch. Is from Twitch. Get your **** together and give us a Tag. You aren't protecting us. You ARE the source of the hate at this point.

It would be nice if Twitch could add a Trans tag so not only can people find an amazing community, but also trans youth can find people like them and have a safe space.
It's ridiculous how it's been over 2 years since this request and Twitch hasn't done anything about it. You can add/remove others things so quickly, but not this? Why is this being ignored.

If I can read through all 1020 comments (up to this post) within 3 and half hours on stream (not an April Fools, I literally just ended stream), and know how obvious the answer is after addressing all of the points made, how can you sit on this for over 2 years (6 months of which you have CHOSEN not to reply in any medium) and continue to sweep us under the rug?
This is flat out not acceptable. You've had ample opportunities to do the right thing, and chosen to sit back and let it pass. No longer, Twitch, no longer! PLEASE GIVE US THE TRANS TAG! It would literally help more than you can possibly imagine. Thank you, and good day!

I guess at this point the question is: What do we have to do to become a big enough problem to where you feel forced to add this? Because we've been hoping for goodwill and support, but obviously none of that exists here. So the next step has to be becoming a PR nightmare. So what will it take?

Twitch, you can remove the Pogchamp emote and the Blind Playthough tag with a snap of your fingers like you're Emet Selch, but you won't add the Trans tag?
The fact you can add tags so easily, yet try and find every excuse under the sun NOT to add a Trans tag, sends only one message: You are not trans-inclusive.I am SICK of listening your posturing and your dismissive waffle. We, the trans community are DONE with listening to excuses and empty promises, we want to see ACTION.
You say the trans tag will invite hate? That won't happen any more than any other tag. Furthermore it is absolutely not your place to tell the trans community what THEY want and need. Having a trans tag separate to the LQBTQIA+ tag is vitally important given the transphobia present within the LGBTQIA+ community itself. We need to be able to find each other in this space.
We NEED to be able to find each other in this space! It is infuriating that you wave your arms and deliver empty promises instead of actually doing the absolute bare minimum to help the trans community!
It is disgusting and you NEED to do better as a platform! You cannot ask your community to "Please hold us accountable" and then proceed to ignore us all when we actually do that. It's abhorrent.
Please do better. PLEASE do better
We don't want glitz and glam and fanfare, we want the bare minimum.
Please do the bare minimum.~Azy

I'm fortunate enough to know many incredible streamers that would benefit greatly by having a trans tag implemented on the site. Please consider adding the above request to continue supporting the trans community.

I am an ally to the trans community and would love to see twitch make a trans tag! Let's be more supportive to the LGBTQ community and add an Ally and Trans tag!

Mod predictions got added before the Trans Tag.... That suggested improvement added had a couple hundred votes, meanwhile the other has a couple thousand votes and is something we have been fighting for for quite sometime.. step it up Twitch.

Last update was in October. I’m disappointed in you Twitch. There are so many people on this platform who need this tag to find a safe community. Stop beating around the bush and actually take a stand and DO something.

This needs to happen. Please make this happen! No more updates, just please provide what the community has been asking for. <3

Why has this been ignored for so long? Surely there's an easy way to do this?

PolygonPrincess commented
Why hasn’t there been an update in almost 6 months? What are you even doing? This is the most upvoted request and yet you all refuse to do anything or implement anything or even acknowledge us. Do you not want us on your platform?? DO SOMETHING TALK TO US ANYTHING HELLO??

i would definitely appreciate this! as a trans person who both occasionally streams and watches others, a way to find trans streamers would be excellent.

As someone who supports the trans community, I want them to have a space for them to be able to find other streamers and where those who support trans people can go and enjoy their favorite streamer.
