Trans tag request
It is hard enough finding trans representation in our daily lives. With the LGBTQIA+ tag, one still needs to browse through channels and spend time in them to find trans streamers. A "trans" tag would help people searching for these communities.

Today we are rolling out 350+ tags, including the transgender tag, to provide you with more options on how you express yourself and your content, so that you can more easily connect with one another and build wonderful communities. We are really appreciative for all of the feedback around this topic (and other related suggestions).
We previously told you that we had a better solution to this request than adding the tag, and we were wrong. This has been one of the most popular requests we’ve heard, and the simple truth is that we should have done this sooner. In an effort to think carefully about how to best address this, we only made the situation more difficult. Again, thank you for helping us throughout this process in reevaluating our stance.
Please continue to share ideas and feedback you have to UserVoice, as well as any suggestions for additional tags you feel we may have missed! We are working to invest more into this forum and aim to have faster communications in the future.
Please check out our blog post for more info: https://blog.twitch.tv/en/2021/05/26/celebrate-yourself-and-your-community-with-350-new-tags/

Representation is the most underestimated, powerful form of validation for people. People playing a game for the first time can avail of the “first playthrough” tag because it’s represents what they want to put out into the world! By not having a Trans tag, Twitch is inherently preventing a huge number of streamers from providing that safe space, often bolstered by a feeling of acceptance.
People that identify as Trans are still streamers... I don’t think it’s about being recognized, rather about making sure people can find this content and feel safe in watching content created by and for Trans people.
This shouldn’t have to be explained via a comment... this shouldn’t have to be voted on... this should be a fundamental element of Twitch’s Diversity / Inclusion / Representation policy... plain and simple.

As ive said many times over when cis people mention a trans tag, those of us who are trans realize what a bad idea it would be to add it.
We know twitch will never do its job and remove the toxic people from the platform.
We know rules are selectively enforced based on what makes them more money.
We know a trans tag would make the toxicity you see in "just chatting" streams be on all trans streams.
We know cis people would invade and invalidate it just like "allies" did the LBGT+ tag.
We know only a small section of the trans community campaigns for this, because they dont follow the same ideas as the rest of us in protecting people from the worst of the trollsThe fact that its been on here over a year and still hasnt gotten 10k people to click a button, is pretty telling how we feel.

Signed, do better twitch,
"...we feel there might be a better solution to handle this with more care..." clearly, you don't understand, maybe get actual trans peoples opinions on it? ya know, part of what UserVoice is SUPPOSED to be? -

Transgender broadcasters on twitch deserve a tag to help make their voices heard better.
These excuses of "preventing harassment" are, well, empty and meaningless to be blunt. That is an issue that can be dealt with while SIMULTANEOUSLY adding a tag for trans creators. I strongly urge Twitch administration to add the trans tag, it shouldn't be that difficult.

Twitch is too busy thinking of new ways to cater to their biggest audience cis white male streamers. They don't seem to want to cater to anyone else unless it affects their bottom line financially.
They've been forced to throw bones to others after embarrassing themselves as a company by doing things like making promotional ads talking about a group of people then not including anyone from said group in the ads.
Instead of creating a tag for trans creators they're coming up with new ways to punish those who offend said cis white male streamers like issuing two week bans for "grouping white men" and banning use of words that offend them.

Having a tag specifically for trans creators will help us seek out and boost those creators as a community. Please add a trans tag to Twitch.

Please add the tag. There's no reason it can't exist. Don't just 'wait until Pride month' for it to exist.

If you care so deeply about this tag, why didn’t you add that instead of the /chant feature?
