Dynamic video quality switch when Twitch tab is not focused on Firefox This is already a feature on Chrome but I don't see it working on Firefox.
On Chrome, when you have a stream playing in another tab and that tab is not focused for some time, the video quality is automatically reduced to save bandwidth and when you go back to the stream tab, the quality goes back to normal.
This doesn't happen on Firefox though. It might be a browser limitation but it would be great if the Twitch folks took a look at this.
Firefox users deserve dynamic quality switch too :)

Other video quality options are bad The video quality other than the (Source), the quality is really bad.
The source is: (720p 60fps) avc1.640020,mp4a.40. than is really good
If I switch to (720p 60fps) (Non Source) avc1.4D401F,mp4a.40.2 the quality is really bad and the same for others2 votes -

strengthen security protocols on tech support I'm livestreaming at 60 frames per second and 1040 pixel standard.
the footage is often-choppy (server-side) and doesn't reflect locale system faults.2 votes -
120 fps button Streaming in high framerate(120fps) increases the quality of the gameplay
(alot when it is fast paced, such as shooter games) but requires a monitor of similar refresh rate(144hz) and good internet to view without lag(its amazingly smooth and so worth it). However not everyone(vast majority) has these requirements and when streaming with these settings it is always the first option(source or highest quality). Thus a lot of people will get a laggy stream and are probably not aware that they have to lower the resolution to view uninterrupted(thats why big streamers dont do this because a lot of people lag…

Resolution Problem Add resolution change for Affiliates, everytime I start up a stream there are cases where multiple viewers have a "black screen" on their mobile devices. This results into ending stream and restarting stream multiple times. This can lead to having a few viewers not return do to complications.

x265 encoder the x265 encoder is barely mainstream right now, it doubles the quality at half the cost. it would be nice to cut the bitrate value in half while maintaining the same quality, making streams much easier to watch, especially for those who have slow internet, and especially for those who don't get quality options.

Convert all streams into lower-quality forms What I am talking about is not a advanced server-side, multiple-algorithm thing like youtube has. I mean a simple set of algorithms to halve frame rate and quarter resolution. This would be most useful to those with slow-ish connections who watch lower-popularity streams but do not care much about the quality. Firstly, you could use a simple calculation that took the R, G, and B values for a given pixel, then dividied up onscreen pixels into clusters of four and average each value, than take the given value and make it an entire pixel. Even a low-end graphics card can…

Optimize Twitch Honestly, I don’t know what exactly needs to be done, but twitch, unlike the same YouTube, always lacks Internet speed. I watch streams via wifi. Through the Windows task manager, I often see that twitch consumes over 20 Mbps and uses 70% of my processor. At peak moments of using the Internet, streams and recordings of streams do not freeze, but the speed constantly increases from 0 to 20 Mbps and falls back, at times when it is below 10 Mbps or I open even the usual "new tab" in Google stream or its RECORDING (it's like a regular YouTube…

Please block ttv lol chrome extension Korean users are using ttv lol to watch in 1080p quality.
Other users bypass it and watch it in 1080p quality, but I don't know why the 720p limit was set.

Remove Stream Quality from Streamers Remove the stream viewer options setings from the streamer. Set it globally at all times for all channels to the viewer to choose the quality 1080p, 720p, 360p, and 160p. It is a well known fact not everyone has a connection that can handle 1080p and 720p. When you remove the option from the viewers you're also setting a precedent that you only want fast connections to connect. Undermining your business bottom line. Streamers never should be able to determine which quality the viewer needs.
