An update on this would be great. An update in favor of reverting the change would be amazing

It became hellish for the moderators to speak. People simply ignore italics and we have to spam to be seen. Please put the colors back. For those who don't want viewers to speak in /me, just putting a timeout of 2 sec was enough.

as it has been just over 2 months. I would desire an update on this situation. I am quite cross in that I am STILL having trouble discerning the difference between things such as streamlabs, my users and my mods.

Can the polling system be improved for chat voting please? Because it is always inconspicuous and finished too early

Your reasons for changing the command is invalid. "Preventing trolls from sending fake donation messages". All that's changed is that trolls do it in italics, not colour.
If the safety of your community was such a top priority, why is harassment, sexism, racism, and much more an ongoing issue, with little to no action taken against those that create unease and fear on your platform?
Furthermore, I don't understand the reason behind asking for feedback on your changes if you have no interest in what your 'community' has to say.

This was made on 29 April and it's 21 June. Clearly no one is in favour of this. Why is this still under consideration? What else is there to consider?

Where is the answer!? Its been SUPER clear that everyone disagrees with your decision, and you do nothing about it. REVERT BACK TO WHAT PEOPLE WANT!

So, how long is this consideration gonna take before you give us a final verdict?
It's been 1.5 months now.

Also it'd be nice (and beneficial to our understanding of your decision) if you gave us an actual example of how coloured chat was used to perpetrate abuse and how italic text is going to prevent that.

And it'd be extremely nice if you discussed such changes with your userbase first. Yes, your platform, your rules. Just saying it'd be nice.

People in all of my communities have literally stopped using the /me command altogether. We had great fun with the coloured chat. Even some channel memes, like "Red Chat" v.v (Everyone changed their name colour to red and then we all typed in the same colour for the memes)

It has been an entire month since this idea was originally announced after the annoying change to the feature. If you are going to ruin a feature and turn a blind eye you might as well just remove it.

Sorry to be very direct. Most Mod's doesn't get payed. Many Mod's do spend alot of hours on your platform to make it as save as possible. You remove a feature which makes them being able to do their job and replace it with something which just doesn't work. Those italic text is unreadable for the chatters and even for the mod's themself once there is a high active channel. Many have spoken already ignoring them feels like you ignore a crucial part of what twitch made and makes a community building platform. "press F to pay respect" right ? ... Please find a solution to pay respect.

Gotta love the 'we've looked at it and aren't going to change anything' but we'll keep it in mind.
Come on Twitch, make it so specific channels can turn it on or off and everyone wins.

i vote to bring back colored chat FOR EVERYBODY.

i've been in many chats, big and small, and can't believe it's been removed because of "perpetrating abuse". yes, people sent fake dono messages and copypasta simulating "official" messages, but it had always been very obviously fake, because twitch text is always grey, and streamers who know how to moderate their chats easily get rid of such activity.

it was fun to see more colors in chat, especially when joining raids and sending raid messages with /me. it was also fairly useful for personal bot accounts, helping distinguish their messages from human chatters.
i don't think color coding streamer, mods, bots, etc (like suggested in another comment here) is a good idea because the most fun thing about colors was that they reflect personal color choice of every member of the chat. <s>might as well remove name colors to drive further that loss of chat personality</s> (jk, NOT A SUGGESTION!). i think keeping it styled in italics is a good thing though.

tl;dr, the feature was perfectly fine the way it was, just revert back and keep the italics. even better if in addition to that there's a way to toggle it on/off and customize.

Twitch staff: "Hey let's go on as if nothing has happend. Let's celebrate twitch's birthday soon, so nobody will ever talking about the senseless thing, that we removed the /me functionality, they will soon forget it. Let's just completely ignore the whole community. As long as we earn money from them, there is nothing we should do."

Five plus weeks of waiting, almost 5000 votes and over 500 comments, I think the community has spoken Twitch, about time something is done about this.

As this roll-back request for /me sits at the 3rd highest active topic on Twitch's User Voice forums, I wanted to give me update from what I have been hearing.

I have been receiving many private communications from Twitch insiders, however they are too scared to speak up. I have verified these heroes are Twitch staff, and have received names and contact details of the Twitch staff who advocate for these negative changes.

Twitch are have had meetings on /me and this wider-community backlash, however the small number of staff who supported this change simply mock us. It's disgraceful that Twitch is allowing a small number of staff to push the extreme political agendas onto the wider community.

On to a piece of viewer communication. A few weeks ago, a supporter of the 'remove /me' group made a couple of nonsensical points which had nothing to do with the usage of /me in an attempt to prove themselves correct - ie. Blaming mods or some garbage.

This person sent me about 26 whispers ranting about how they were correct. Each time, unblocking me, ranting, and then re-block. They fail to understand that they are the ranting troll which makes the Twitch platform a toxic environment.
In their rants to me, they confirm support for Twitch's position of 'words are physical violence'. What a hypocrite.

I look forward to Twitch addressing this issue, and a wider problem of themselves.

Unfortunately, hateful/abusive comments (etc.) are made in chat everyday - but that hasn't resulted in chat being disabled/removed.

I understand due to privacy some of the negative events that occurred which are being called the reason for why this feature was removed can't be explained in detail. However, it would be greatly appreciated/enlightening to have better explanations as to what happened in general to justify completely removing the feature rather than making adjustments to it. Hard to understand/sympathize when left in the dark.
