[MERGED] Bring back colored /me chat messages + Update the /me command to color chat messages FOR MODS/BROADCASTER ROLES ONLY
Or at least give streamers the authority to enable or disable it. But the ENTIRE point was how it stood out with color. Plain black with italics just renders it useless.
Thank you for the patience with us on this. This has been one of the most popular ideas on UserVoice and we definitely heard your feedback.
Today we launched /announcement for mods and streamers. Announcements can be used in chat to highlight a message and are available in 4 different colors along with the channel accent color. Because this is only part of the ask of this idea we are setting this idea to partial release so the community can continue to leave feedback on this.
I think a nice option would be to give streamers controls over who can access /me in their streams. Let them decide if they want it to be for everyone, subs, or mods (e.g. chat bots) to have it, or disabled it, etc. Let them be in control of it.
I need colours to distinguish bots commands, for songs playing, shoutouts, social media, rules, tournament join information etc - please bring it back. This is taking a core feature away from us.
Yah.. really good job excluding the ones with dyslexia and the visually impaired.
Either bring it back or make it optional. Italics make it more difficult to read and having the colours helps bot messages stand out (and actually allows mods to see those fake tip messages you’re worried about so much easier)
The only thing that italics does is made it harder to read for people with dyslexia and makes it stand out less like it was with color.
I had to install FFZ to make chat readable for me again :(
As someone with dyslexia, please bring back the colorful /me! There are far more important issues that y'all need to be dealing with!
italics is going to make it hard to read for people with dyslexia
I'd love to know where anyone asked for the colours to be taken away in the first place? There are plenty of other things your users are actually asking for, however, just saying...
This is a very minor thing but a very arbitrary and asenine decision that doesn't do anything useful and hinders the fun and user experience of Twitch by killing rainbow raids.
please dont change it! i love /me
Bring the colored /me message back!
At the very least, let broadcasters enable colored /me for mods. Also, italics in large blocks of text is near impossible to read when chat is scrolling.
Bring the colored /me message back!
change it back plz
they really out here ******* over 1000's of streamers with automated commands with /me in it.
they killed the rainbow chat raids
I use the /me command a lot for my bot messages so it stands out from the rest of chat. Making it italics without colour change defeats the purpose of it 'standing out', which was the point of it, was it not?
I honestly don't understand why the **** you seem to think it's necessary to waste time changing a feature that didn't need to be touched on, when you can't even spend a solid amount of time on stuff that is actually a problem, such as spam accounts, follow/view bots, harassment and other stuff that has been plaguing your platform FOR YEARS! I would have thought that with all the revenue you take from most streamers would move you to make your platform more desirable, instead of creating distaste with every single questionable 'necessary change' that's come from the apparent brains of this organisation.
Please make it either optional for Broadcasters to decide or at least give it back to mods and bots. It was mainly used by us mods to highlight our messages and to be better seen. The italic isn't having the same effect.
Don't just remove it without any alternative!
There are way better options than just removing it. The feature was used widely, so there is a lot of use for it. I have not seen any abuse that bots couldn't filter out either.
Ideally we would have a command mods could use to make their message stand out.
Or the streamer gets an option who can use it. Just don't remove it without warning. That was not a good idea.
why even bother removing it when the phrase /me can be blacklisted either in AutoMod or any chat bot out there?
Change the /me command back to being colorful. No one wants or likes the italicization. It ruins the feature all together.
