[MERGED] Bring back colored /me chat messages + Update the /me command to color chat messages FOR MODS/BROADCASTER ROLES ONLY
Or at least give streamers the authority to enable or disable it. But the ENTIRE point was how it stood out with color. Plain black with italics just renders it useless.

Hey all,
Thank you for the patience with us on this. This has been one of the most popular ideas on UserVoice and we definitely heard your feedback.
Today we launched /announcement for mods and streamers. Announcements can be used in chat to highlight a message and are available in 4 different colors along with the channel accent color. Because this is only part of the ask of this idea we are setting this idea to partial release so the community can continue to leave feedback on this.

Bring /me back the way it was and also don't make it exlusive for mods/bots/streamers like some suggested. Plebs and subs like colors, too!
-mod for a small streamer

My goodness twitch has some bizzare ideas, but this really takes the cake.

Are you serious with this? COLORS make the world a brighter place!

I swear, twitch is the stupidest ******* company out there.

When people do the /me command, it's either for raids or simple RolePlay purposes. A few streamers have stated to do /me in their raids so it stands out.
For RP purposes it's like /me gets a blanket for story time. Changing it to italics is a step back and I feel like people will abuse it.

Three choices for streamers would be great: off, mod-only, on

Genau die Färbung des Textes macht den Command überhaupt erst sinnvoll um Text HERVORZUHEBEN!
Das ist niemand verwirrt oder was auch immer als heuchlerische Begründung für die Änderung missbraucht wird. -

I can't say I'm too familiar with this, as I haven't used Twitch very much, but I'd be fine with bringing this back. I agree with the idea of allowing streamers to turn it on or off. Though the fake donation scam thing does concern me a little.

I like the idea of bringing /me to a more useable way. But for Moderators the /me was a way of telling the Chat something important.
Please create a solution where we can use both.

I do like the idea of it being able to be enabled or disabled, at the discretion of the streamer. There is literally zero point of even having the /me command without the color, that's the whole point of it!!

Never had I issues with this. It is just colored text to make the chat fun and often it is used to highlight bot messages. Most trolls dont even know that command exists. I loved that feature since it reminded me of old IRC times.
Italics? what should change here for the trolling? Trolls will still troll if italic or colored. Especially if bot messages are now also italics. This change means nothing than just removing a little playful of color from the chat. -

@funkiest_saturn The trolls can still post, and it is still a message from them. Twitch didn't fix anything.

I understand why you did it because of the trolls but as a moderator and a streamer myself I use the colour feature all the time and now with the italics it renders it useless. The pros out weigh the cons on this one. Please change it back.

Colored text is really important to reach our users as moderators. We need the ability to highlight our messages compared to normal user texts.
