Adding pronoun information to chat
For people who are trans and/or non-binary, letting streamers know your pronouns in chat so that your gendered correctly can either be awkward or difficult. An option for people to add their pronouns in brackets beside their usernames or in their profile cards in chat might help to let the streamer and/or chat know if a user feels it's important.
Do it !
It's about time
The only argument against this is that people might target and harass people who have chosen to do this which is banable anyways. Upvote!
This is incredibly easy to implement, as we've seen from third-party extensions.
Inclusivity is important to Twitch, or so it claims, so this is an important step!
Pronouns are easy and super important for the health of some people so let's just add them!
badges that are for she/her, he/him, they/them, etc.
We've already seen with the user made Chrome Extension that this is something that would definitely be helpful on Twitch, but it means that everyone would need to use Chrome when using the platform.
Surely there's a simple solution that Twitch can deploy?
I think this will help a lot everyone and addressing someone with correct pronouns is the way of the jedi hehe
Also now you can use this extension that Alejo_47 did. https://pronouns.alejo.io/ <3
I feel like this would result is a ton of harassment
Why is this not available? where is the inclusiveness that supposedly exist? these tags/badges help people respect each other. get your stuff together twitch. All will benefit with the changing times.
One of the best places to see a chatter's pronouns is right there next to their name. Please add a pronoun badge so we can select and share our preferred pronouns.
This feature would be absolutely beneficial when interacting with my community.
Alejo Pereyra made an extension for Chrome.
You can download it here: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/twitch-chat-pronouns/agnfbjmjkdncblnkpkgoefbpogemfcii
and you can set your preferred pronouns at https://pronouns.alejo.io
This is how it looks in chat https://twitter.com/Marielitai/status/1331778028012232704
As someone who would use this feature, I absolutely see a need for not only having my community know how to refer to me, but a way to refer to people in my community! Usernames rarely signal gender, but creating opportunities to speak to people the way they want to is what twitch should be about!
please! my pronouns are they/them and that isnt always clear because im non-binary some days!!!
Umm, Yes please?
Please also give options for pronouns other than he/she/they.
This is SO important.
I wanna be respectful when i refer to anyone so this is something that we need! Twitch please come through and deliver and don't disappoint with a excuse .
