Delete your own message
It would be very nice, if it's possible to delete your own message in the chat. It happens sometimes that you write something what sounds pretty good in your mind, but if you read it in the chat after sending it, you recognize that it wasn't such a cool Idea to post it or you mention by yourself that your message is stupid and want to delete it. A cool way to implement this would be, if you add a little bin between the own message, that you can easy delete it by clicking on them.

Please, this is an important feature! There is currently NO WAY for a broadcaster's message to be deleted (that I know of). If a streamer inadvertently pastes sensitive/personal information in chat this can be very dangerous with no way to remove it.
And come on, the streamer can remove anyone else's messages.

I like this idea. Being able to delete messages, but mods could still see them is really smart, and i think it should be implemented.

This can be accomplished by adding a !vanish command to a chatbot. All it does is time out the user who typed !vanish for 1 second, effectively the same as deletion

Yep, I immediately saw the abuse potential of being able to say something inappropriate and then hiding it from the mods - but the easy solution is what tomasdev said: Let the deletion hide it from regular users, but still be visible (and noted as "deleted") to mods/the streamer.

And even for regular users, it can be implemented in a way where even when deleted, mods can continue seeing them (same way mod-deleted messages work)

Drew, I want this feature as a mod/owner of a channel, for my own sake.

As others have said, this can be abused by trolls who can say something vile then delete it before mods can report it.

I totally agree, asking the person who own's the channel to remove it is a pain because they are streaming and don't really want to stop what they are doing. Also I have typed in wrong commands before and it looks bad when you can't delete your own stuff and then put in the right command.

As a mod, I wouldn't want this for the avg viewer (trolls, etc) and a mod can delete a message for someone if it is needed. However, there are times when a mod types something and then goes, opps, wrong info. Allow us mods to delete our own messages.

I want this function for mods, as there is no possibility for mods to get their message deleted, except for the streamer. Now if you accidentally copy/paste for example your phone number in the chat and the streamer is distracted at the time you can’t do anything except maybe clear the whole chat, which isn‘t optimal either. For normal users I think it‘s not that good as was already mentioned it can too easily be abused for trolls and if someone wants their message deleted the mods could still do it for them

I've had times where I mess up in a chat message, or realise the message doesn't make sense, and when I try to delete it, I can't. I feel this would be good for people who make these mistakes to delete messages that they feel are not good. But this can be open to abuse from trolls.

I think its a very bad idea, it would just enable more trolls (people who say bad words), they would type "it" in chat, then delete it right away and I do not support this behaviour.
