Pinned Message / MoTD
Ability to set a persistent message that stays at the top of the chat and is not affected by the rest of the chat scrolling up. Useful for information that may normally be constantly repeated through a bot command (ie. server IP, Discord server URL, social media, any relevant stream announcements like schedule changes, etc.)
Message stays up until the broadcaster (maybe editors, too?) removes it, so the message could stay up while the stream is offline as well (which also makes it useful to let viewers know of a stream cancellation).
Hi again,
We want to start off by thanking you for the feedback you have provided! We're excited to announce the launch of pinned chat to all channels! To recap, streamers & mods can:
- Pin any message in chat (regardless of which user posted it), by clicking on the pin icon that appears when hovering over an existing chat message
- Create a pinned chat message using the "/pin [message]" command
Pinned chat helps seamlessly bring attention to information that might have been missed by latecomers to your stream, or simply keep relevant information accessible when chat gets busy. You can read more about it here.
Again, we really appreciate the feedback you've brought to make this launch possible – thank you for sharing with us! Feel free to leave any new feedback or ideas via https://link.twitch.tv/UVChat.

I've seen some streamers use the /poll command for this purpose. It's not an ideal fix, but should work for most situations.

Streamer or Mod can pin messages over the chat, so a message can be read all the time in the stream.

Please do this! Sometimes in chat there's an important announcement that's missed, the same question gets asked over and over and over. It would solve so many headaches.

Twitch should have a feature to pin messages in the top of the chat.

Yes! Please implement this. When the viewer base gets to 1k+, there are always going to be questions asked repeatedly. Not only the streamer gets tired answering them, the mods and other viewers also get tired of answering them.

This applies more to the mid to larger streamers but can be useful for the site as a whole I think.
If a person of importance is trying to communicate with the streamer then this would make it much easier for them. You may ask, why not just whisper? Well whispers aren't always suitable for those who have them disabled or for those who don't want to halt their stream to check them. The message may also be urgent so the streamer may not have time to check or may have their hands full.
This feature could also be used for mods to pin some sort of announcement in chat that viewers who just tuned in might have missed.
As for the pin feature, the broadcaster can set a maximum limit to how long these messages can stay pinned whilst moderators can pick the duration of time they want it to be pinned. If wanted, this pin option should also have the option to be disabled entirely for the viewer in their personal settings if they don't wish to see it obscuring chat. As well as this, the pinned message should have an 'x' next to it so it can be dismissed.

I think it would be a great idea if the streamer or moderators could put a message/note above the chat to notify people. Whether it's temporarily for a minute or left there for the whole day.
Especially with bigger streamers who have a chaotic chat. A note or announcement can quickly be pinned at the top and everyone can quickly click on it and/or read it (a little pin symbol would be fitting I suppose).
Additionally, it can get annoying for streamers to have to answer the same questions over and over again. That's why I think a little note at the top is a good idea. The viewers can view that instead of typing a certain command in the chat or bothering the streamer.
I suppose a quick way to do this would be to type /pin xxx
Example: /pin Tomorrow is the subscriber tournament! Don't miss out!
Example: /pin Yes I have played (insert game here) already stop asking :)Thank you in advance if this gets taken into consideration.
Peace, Vorty

Pin Clips or Links approved by the streamer or a moderator to the top of the chat feed to reduce clutter of people retyping commands or searching or a clip that just happen. Maybe a clip reel for all the clips that took place since the stream started. Allows people who just joined an easy way to catch up.
The stream could turn these features on or off as they wanted. I see a lot of temporary Commands that could benefit from being a temporary message, command or counter pinned to the top of the chat box. Like a feed or death count for a game, or stats for Fortnite.

Be able to pin messages to the top of chat, so streamers messages or mod messages don't get lost for big channels or small channels that have been raided. This would make a lot of sense to help stop streamers spamming in chat which I don't enjoy doing personally.

It would be great pin up messages in channel's chat to do announces and every viewer can see it every single time (like smashcast have in their chat)

This feature would bring my twitch game to life with way more reliable gameplay given real time responses. When the sticky pops up from a typed bot message, having the sticky message display what the bot said will be way more reliable then going off of a delayed stream and a constantly flowing twitch chat. Game will be releasing March 5-7th. Please up vote this feature

that would actually be amazing for some of the larger streams... chat can get pretty insane at times

Hello! I think everyone knows about this problem... You're chilling in a big stream with around 20.000 Viewers and the Moderators need to inform the chat about something. Well, since there are so many people in the chat, moderator-messages are gonna be overlooked really fast. So, I've came up with the Idea that moderator are able to "pin" messages that will be shown above the chat for maybe 5-10 seconds or until they get "unpinned".

Sorry for my english... I hope you could understand my Idea c: -

Twitter allows you to pin Tweets to the top of your profile, I think Twitch should allow a similar feature, allowing users to keep a certain post at the top of their feed, even after creating new posts. This would come in handy to make viewers aware of schedule changes, giveaways, etc. etc.

Just allow it to be closed out once the viewers have read it.

Many speedrunners I watch often have a FAQ pastebin link in their title which are at the moment unclickable without 3rd Party Extensions/Programs.
Streamers can put important information such as NNID/PSN/GamerTag/Steam ID if they're hosting lobbies or Server IP if they're playing on a Minecraft/Terraria server for example.
Speedrunners can put the Current World Record so less people ask "What's WR?" - I am fully aware that there's a timing program that allows plain text, but some people don't use that feature on their layouts.
Ideally up to 3 pinned items would be useful.

this is highy useful for intormation like modpack for minecraft streams, multi-stream link for racers etc. Kinda like a MOTD that stays at the top of the chat window with pertinent information that most viewers will ask.
