Pinned Message / MoTD
Ability to set a persistent message that stays at the top of the chat and is not affected by the rest of the chat scrolling up. Useful for information that may normally be constantly repeated through a bot command (ie. server IP, Discord server URL, social media, any relevant stream announcements like schedule changes, etc.)
Message stays up until the broadcaster (maybe editors, too?) removes it, so the message could stay up while the stream is offline as well (which also makes it useful to let viewers know of a stream cancellation).
Hi again,
We want to start off by thanking you for the feedback you have provided! We're excited to announce the launch of pinned chat to all channels! To recap, streamers & mods can:
- Pin any message in chat (regardless of which user posted it), by clicking on the pin icon that appears when hovering over an existing chat message
- Create a pinned chat message using the "/pin [message]" command
Pinned chat helps seamlessly bring attention to information that might have been missed by latecomers to your stream, or simply keep relevant information accessible when chat gets busy. You can read more about it here.
Again, we really appreciate the feedback you've brought to make this launch possible – thank you for sharing with us! Feel free to leave any new feedback or ideas via https://link.twitch.tv/UVChat.

It would be really helpful if mods (and thus creators) were able to pin chat messages to make certain comments be anti flood. Some streams have lots of chat messages and some streamers have lots of VIPs and moderators (which do not have the 30 sec chat restriction)

The problem is that there is very little space above the chat. Even on the pc there is little space for a potential message. On the phone there is no space at all. Most of the time it will be used for advertising.

It would be helpful if mods or channel editors could pin messages on top of the chat, that way we don't have to spam the chat to get some information to the masses. Maybe give us a time period option to choose from for how long the pin should be up before it gets removed automatically

Buena idea para streamers y gente que comenta. Los primeros lo agradecerán muchísimo y los segundos se sentirán reconocidos. Hay que patentarlo!

Genial para acordarte de ese código para esa puerta o para recordar coger un objeto.

[EN] An option to pin an user's chat message as a streamer's reminder. Really useful for videogames that makes us memorize hard puzzles so we could use the chat to help us save the data.
[ES] La posibilidad de fijar el mensaje de un usuario del chat como recordatorio para el streamer. Muy útil para videojuegos donde debemos memorizar puzzles complicados y el chat nos ayuda a guardar los datos.

I don't know how this idea isn't getting more attention. This is a potentially huge QOL addition and would make the life of streamers and mods a lot easier. It's also something that Youtube live streams support and it's one of my favorite features there.
Streamers often don't have the screen real estate to add a "highlighted message" on their stream.

I think it would be a great idea if the broadcaster had the opportunity to pin a single message to the top of the chat. In case there was an announcement that many may have missed, or if someone just had a great comment in chat that the streamer believes need to be seen by everyone who joins!

agreed! we tend to use the poll feature to attempt to do this but it would be so helpful if there was an implemented feature

A lot of the time as I moderate when chat becomes properly busy any blanket statements I make about the way chat are interacting are lost due to chat moving so quickly. For example, if chat are spamming the squid emote consistently a message I send telling everyone to stop is pointless until they do as the message is lost to all of the squids. I suggest implementing a moderator broadcast command "/broadcast {message} {duration}" or some similar syntax. What this would do is where polls usually show up at the top of chat, a message would show which could be a blanket statement to change the way chat are acting at that time, for example, "Stop with the emote spam" or "Please try not to backseat game" or whatever, depending on what most of chat are currently doing against the rules at that time. And after the duration has ended that message, which everyone should have now seen, disappears.
