  1. Being able to increase the max scroll back value beyond the 150 limit would help a lot with chat moderating, and help with chat interaction from the broadcaster. This feature would disabled by default in settings but once enabled the user will be able to set the value to his/her liking. Having a maximum limit to start with ex. 10K would be a great start, with the set maximum value becoming bigger over time.

  2. Make chat customizable so streamers can turn on/off different stuff and combine them like badges/colors etc and make each chat unique.
In my case I'd like to turn off nickname color, combine all badges into one (i.e. if viewer is a sub and prime one then he will have badge with crown, if he is sub and moderator then he will have badge with green border), in case of regular viewer (just follower but always watches the stream) then he will have his nickname color

  3. Possibility to send a request to friends or other streamers which are streaming together to merge their chat together while they are streaming together so viewers can chat to both streamers without having to have multiple chats/streams open.

  4. Allow people to see their own chat history.

Wether it is someone who owns a channel, is a mod on a channel, or just a subscriber, it would be nice to come back to a channel a day or later and see what was said.

  5. Recently i started to watch more twitch VODs while doing other stuff and there is one thing that i thought will help other users like me.
If you use one screen and watch streams, you can set your browser with a stream to just half of your screen, but then your player is really small if you count chat on the side. http://i.imgur.com/ZLGUp1w.png
I was making it work by using chat in popout and setting in under the stream on one side of the monitor like this http://i.imgur.com/isjtjQ5.png It was the best i could do when watching live.
    Unfortunately it…

  6. Sometimes you need to post information to your channel that is best viewed when its multiline, like a table with header and rows, list of items or some mini-report from the channel bot.

Since IRC can't use CRLF in messages, I suggest adding a way for channel mods (avoids abuse) to use a special symbol (or double-space as in markdown) that would visually act as a line break.

That way it would be possible for mods (users and bots) to post quick summaries to the channel that are easy to read and do not require several posts to make it…

  7. I love using the /me command to highlight the whole phrase in the color of your your username, but there are times where I only want to highlight one or two words or highlight half a phrase. I would also like it if you made a bold, italics, strike through, etc. commands (For example Bold Italic Bold and Italic ~~Strike through~~ etc.) available for use inside of stream chats.

  8. In stream option it would be a list element with options to add new items to this list.

List name : Slow Chat Based On Viewers [+]

Would allow the option for larger streams to increase the duration of slow chat based on a threshold of viewers. The more people that join the longer the slow chat duration. This would assist with automatic chat control, and allow streamers the peace of mind that when they stream later and viewer count goes down that the restrictions placed on chat would automatically get lifted. Option to add threshold would also be ideal.…

  9. develop a feature that allows broadcaster select specific person from the viewer list and do a video call with the person. it will be useful for the broadcaster to do direct interaction if anything happen such as a huge amount of donation, giveaway or anything else.

for example, the broadcaster select 1 of the viewer, left click the name and it will give an option to contact the viewer directly (webcam+voice chat) something like that.

  10. When the streamer chooses the "Restrict Chat Language" option, you see a popup on the chat and can't send messages until you click on it. Once you do and the popup disappears, there is no way to check if the chat is in language restricted mode. I visit many channels and it would be very hard to remember which ones had the language restriction and which didn't, and I don't want to seem annoying to the streamer or other chatters. Also I've noticed that you get no notice about it as moderator of the channel either, so if streamer forgets…

  12. if you are in chat, and you want to contact a mod regarding certain question/need help regaarding something, then by using @mods will message all the present mods the same way as you message them personally by their twitch names. This will ensure easier way for mods to notice if chat require their assistance, or for a viewer to reach a mod.

  13. So, with the brief time I have spent watching some YouTube streamers there is something I noticed that I really enjoyed. Which was the ability to have a Sponsor and Non-Sponsor chat (Sponsor being YouTube's equivalent to Twitch Subscribers).

The reason I think Twitch would benefit from this would be mainly for larger streamers to be able to define some subscriber questions from the mess of thousands of non-subscribers either spamming or just saying general nonsense without having to take away non-subscribers from chatting/spamming/having fun.

Just a small idea that I think wouldn't hurt Twitch at all to allow streamers…

  14. Hello everyone SlaveZero here,

Chat is mostly non subs and most streamers go to sub only chat, and I think that all streamers have loyal followers that were with them for years and are not subs. It would be nice if there was an option where streamer could promote their loyal followers to be able to participate in sub only chat.

    Have a good day everyone!

  15. This idea has been in my head ever since the release of the Golden Kappa.

Much like how we currently has sub-only mode and emote-only mode, we should have a Kappa-only mode, where any variations of the kappa emotes can be posted!

Whether it's a sub emote, bttv emote, or a global emote, it can only allow emotes to be passed that have the kappa in it, and includes variation such as KaRappa or Keepo!

In a chat i moderate we have a daily Kappa check at the peak of the stream, to see if anyone has the golden kappa,…

  16. It would be a chat-wide drawing room where people can doodle anything. You could have it be a popup, or have it directly under the stream and to the left of chat.

  17. I propose a mass user chat filter/ignore feature where you are able to set certain mass filters to finally rid the spam/trolls/racists etc from chat.

    Examples:

    1) A user could set their chat to ignore all users under a certain age (say 18 for example) -- this will reduce the immature chat

    2) Ignore chat from all subs from JohnDoe's stream (some streams are spam heavy which bleeds into other channels)

    3) Ignore all users who use certain words (allows user to add custom or pre-selected filters for users who use abusive/hateful language)

This feature will hopefully allow a positive…

  18. This is to prevent the major issue with trolls. a Regular only chat would mean that a person has been WATCHING the stream for a set amount of time before becoming a regular, and is following as well. Not something a bot/troll can follow button and just randomly pop in to troll the next day. We should be able to set the time limit as well like let's say it takes about 4 hours to become regular, I've only found 1 troll that waited an hour after ban to continue trolling, all the trolls I've seen, only troll until the…

  19. It would be nice to be able to type snippets of programming source code into chat.

For example, `@next += 1` would become <code>@next += 1</code> in the outputted HTML of the chat, which works great at first glance.

This would be a great feature for the #programming subchannel on Creative. Many programming sigils and tokens are meaningful in chat, so these would be ignored if inside a code tag.

  20. Right now people can be distinguished by badges and name color, but allowing users to have different fonts can really help differentiate and provide more of a "personality" for chatters.

Streamers should be able to ban certain fonts in their streams that they find too hard to read or otherwise don't like.
