Ability to hide MOD BADGE The ability to hide the Mod Badge/ Sword from view.
This is especially important for communities that are on the smaller side where new viewers may be intimidated by the amount of mods with their badge chatting.
It also allows certain moderators to mod anonymously.

[Test] Crowd Chant Some communities will notice a new way to "chant" during hype moments on stream. This is a limited time experiment where only some creators will have access to this feature. Creators and Mods will be able to use /chant (using text and/or emotes) in chat to kick one off. Viewers will see a private callout with the chant and can dismiss or choose to participate!
We'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions here. We look forward to hearing your feedback!
441 votesOn 2/2, we will turn off Chants.
While this feature was popular, we observed negative impacts to minutes watched for significant groups of creators.
Experiments help us test new ideas in real time, and decide what to build next. Thanks for sharing your feedback with us! -
Emote only timeout Timeout users but they can only post 1~ emote every 30~ secs or even restricted to a curated selection of ;( emotes. User042 has been grounded/muted! or something catchy

Bring back multiple chat rooms I know this was a feature previously and I'm still not sure why it was removed with an update. I feel that having multiple chat rooms per channel is extremely useful, particularly for streamers with larger bases. Multiple rooms allow subs, mods, etc. to have their own space to communicate in. This can potentially incentivize some viewers to subscribe and allow mods to communicate without having to use another app such as Discord or Slack regarding real-time issues.

Highlited messages for moderator Allow Moderators of a channel have access to highlighted chat messages without the cost of channel points.
this could have big impact in chats as moderator would be able to get a message across to either the chat or the streamer with ease without it being lost in a sea of messages.
this could also be a fetuare the streamer could disable/enable if they dont want moderators to have access to free highlighhted messages.81 votes -
Markdown for Hyperlinks in Twitch chat Instead of having to post hyperlinks in chat that vary in character length/size; it would be great if hyperlinks could be used as markdown text in chat similar to panels. Hovering over links could be used as well here to display to the user which website the link leads to. This would be very useful for chat bots plus broadcasters and moderators could restrict markdown to themselves and/or view full links in chat instead to minimize scam or inappropriate links to other websites.

Fix chat disconnect when using a VPN When streaming using my VPN, my chat constantly disconnects and reconnects. This does not happen when VPN is off, and is not actually a connection issue as I never drop frames. I could ignore the constant spamming of "welcome to the chat room" but the problem is that I miss chats from my community. Being a small streamer, this is unacceptable as I read and respond to everyone. Being a female streamer, turning off my VPN is not an option. I do understand that twitch is trying to do something about people using VPN's to get around channel bans. But…

Eliminate Moderated Message Notifcations in Chats Users have no purpose in seeing when a comment has been moderated. The text should not simply have a stamp placed over it that shows everyone it was removed (social embarrassment pressure) but should be removed entirely from chat. It would allow for fewer data transfer to individuals who are performing as expected. It would reduce chat congestion. It would promote better engagement by streamers as they wouldn't have to scope though garbage comments to reply. If the message sender needs to be notified a whisper could be applied to them suggesting their comment was removed. No further information is…

Store "Chat Filters" option server side and for all channels The "Chat Filters" option should be stored server side and global (for all channels) and not just in a cookie. I don't want to disable the filters every time I log in to Twitch and set it for every single channel separately.

New party chat time with streamer? When the streamer put music and is in just chatting maybe the part of the chat can change the white or black color to others colors like a party and in that time the chat and the streamer they will have a more real party experience.

Detect and block VPN and TOR / onion routing users Very simple, VPNs and TOR / onion routing are routinely weaponized by bad actors such as serial trolls and harassers to effortlessly ban evade Twitch's IP bans, especially when the bar to create new accounts is incredibly low (if not virtually non-existent). The time has come for Twitch to disable these backdoors that enable harassers and does more harm than good. Twitch uses IRC for its chat functionality, and IRC natively supports detection and blocking of these services. (Twitch just has to enable it)

Chat Roulette a filter for chat (like slow mode) but instead of slowing down the time a chatter can send a message, all people can send messages at whatever speed they want but only a random few actually go through. This would help bigger creators who have high viewership, because even if they have 30 second slowmode on, there is still thousands of people who can send a message within that time. This also helps creators who don't want to use 'money mode' but would still like their chat to be viewable. There could be a setting to determine how many messages…

Refresh chat messages through overlay instead of scrolling, thus keeping messages in a fixed location, improving legibility. I've been looking at the way messages refresh in a busy chat channel. All messages are shifted upward every time a refresh takes place, thus, changing their location all the time. This makes it difficult to finish reading messages, as your eyes need to re-adjust constantly to new messages as well as all old messages re-appearing in new places. This is the case, even though messages stay on-screen sufficient time to read them, if only they didn't move.
So, currently you see:
message 1
message 2
message 3 <--followed by
message 2
message 3 <--
message 4and:

create temporary (or permanent?) groups to continue chatting about a topic. Oftentimes interesting topics come up in streams but the only way to chat about it is via @ which everyone can see. After a while you need to drop the topic to not bother everyone else. It would be very useful to have the ability to create a temporary (whisper) group to continue chatting about that topic without bothering the stream's chat that might already have moved on/lost interest.

Left clicking on an emote in chat to automatically put it in your "Send a Message" box For example when the entire chat spams "LUL" emote because something funny happened, you just have to left click at one of the "LULs" sent by users and it automatically gets put into your "Send a Message" box ready to use.
This would make the Chat more active because you dont have to type the entire emote name especially if its an emote you dont know the name of, then you could just click on it and send it, instead of checking the name and typing it.

Change chatters' color based on their interactions One aspect of Twitch I personally dislike is that any user can obtain any color in your room. Its detrimental to the theme you've created, or purchased, for your stream. It isn't personalized to you, its personalized to them...
I would absolutely love it if Twitch streamers had an option to set up customized username colors for their chatters based on their interactions.
For example;
- First-time viewer; Green
- Viewer that hasn't followed; Gray
- Follower; Purple
- Donator; Orange
etc...This way, you can see at a glance who contributes to your stream regularly, and not only that,…

Hide chat, but not the chat bar Maybe adding a way to hide the chat, but not the chat bar where you type/send messages ? i think this would be a good idea because in super fast or weird chats, its kinda annoying to open chat everytime to comment on something . this would also be a good idea because if you dont want to see a chat whizzing by but still want to say stuff, being able to show only the chat bar would be nice

Bit Only Chat Mode Allow streamers to set their channel to a bit-only chat mode. Streamers can choose how much a message would cost. For example each time a user would send a message it would cost 5 bits.
This would help reduce channel spam.

Oklaski Happy new year! I hope that Twitch will be able to take place of alphabet... I don't know what research you have done so it is hard to help you. Applaud (positive enforcement for creator) It would be great, creator could see what part of the show is most popular and the consumers could erxpress themself while limiting spam.
Why I watch YT and not Twitch (when I do) ... I can,t stop/fast forward live video :(

No Editing of Video On Demand Where Bans Occur/Comments Removed. If there is a need to ban someone or remove a comment, those should still be seen on the Video on Demand and not edited out as it appears that is happening. It is a good idea to leave these in so that others seeing the repeat will see how strict the mods are on channel, what gets you banned or your comment removed. Then the person can decide to keep watching/sub to the channel. Any viewer late to the stream questioning why a user got banned or a comment removed can go back and see that section on the…
