(Payed) feature to erase my chat history I'd like a (payed) feature to erase my chat history, which is viewable by channels based on my username. It's fine my chat history stays known to Twitch itself, but I'd like to start with a clean slate because my account is quite old and I've said things in the past in certain channels that I regret.

Basic chat protection features Already back in the golden days of IRC - late 90s, early 2000s, it was common sense for both IRC network operators, and custom bots run to moderate channels, to have built in protections against hateful and disrupting attacks and other common abuse of the service.
These kind of protections would include mitigations against:
Mass creation of accounts
Trying to connect to the network too many times from one IP
Too many joins/messages/similar to a single channel
Mass spam from multiple automated or manually operated actors
Twitch should look into the already widely adopted best practices and implement similar practices…

Unicode codebase limit on chat by creator locale Allow creators to limit the allowable characters to be used in chat based on the languages the creator specifies. Link the languages to Unicode codepages to not unfairly limit non-Latin based languages. This could help alleviate some of the issues found with hatespeech and the recent hate raids. Messages that are filtered based on this, could be thrown into automod queue, or straight up not sent at all.

Reporting Chat Messages via Usercard It would be ideal if Moderators could directly report a specific message in someone's logs without going to their profile, writing up a report and pasting the log through. If we were able to flag individual messages and send a direct report, it'd hopefully ***** down on hateful speech on Twitch.
This being via the usercard would be helpful. It'd also be helpful to see flagged/reported messages on their usercard when they change their username, as Twitch clears their logs but the ban still shows.

Have a Chat Reputation System for All Twitch Accounts Twitch really needs some sort of a reputation system for each person in a chat. Every time someone toxic is flagged/reviewed by a moderator in any streamer's chat, their rating could drop. Then channels could set a minimum rating level requirement. Have a low rating for being a toxic human? So long!
Of course, there would be bully mods that pick on people in chat that they do not like and dock them points on purpose. That could be a problem. It's just really annoying when you are conversing with a decent human in chat and then a negative, immature…

Make the rules button more explicit Leave a rules button next to the channel points to highlight the rules.
Note: I make this suggestion because many do not read the rules and the rules button is currently very "hidden" because it has to open the settings.34 votes -
Chat Rules improvement Four things TBD to improve how Rules are displayed or dismissed.
1. Remember whether or not someone has read the rule.
→ The way that Twitch remembers it is via cookies... Which is easily lost and leads to someone being upset if they have to be reminded EVERY SINGLE TIME cookies are cleared and on EVERY CHANNEL they go. At least have the decency to remember it!
2. Auto-dismiss Chat Rules after some time.
→ Having to manually dismiss every single time can be quite a pain. So instead, add a timer for it to be dismissed automatically based on…3 votes -
Chat messages visible only for Mods and Streamer. Sometimes as a mod you need to tell something quick to other mods or to the channel streamer and you have to rely on other platforms like Discord or Twitter (or whispers) which makes it slow and tedious.
It would be great to write something in chat and make it visible only for other mods and the streamer, maybe a pinned message for 30 seconds on the same area where Hype trains and other important things appear.
The streamer could enable/disable this feature and the time to make this messages available.35 votes -
Add a VOD timestamp when viewing chat history Add a clickable timestamp in chat history so moderators can see when a specific message was sent during the stream for more context. Merged with this idea i would like to suggest that moderators or editors can see removed messages in the VOD chat so that they can take proper action when reviewing an unban request.

Emote stacks in view In a busy stream the chat is completely useless. It is just a wall of emotes.
It would be nice if the chat was mainly texts while emotes could be (optionally) stacked in the video view lower corner. So when something funny happens and people start sending emotes it would be a cool thing to have stacks at the bottom piling up.1 vote -
Make Leaderboards on mobile autocollapse in portrait like they do in landscape You recently seem to have added leaderboards to mobile.
In landscape mode, they pause, blink and autocollapse onto the Extensions toolbar. Perfect.
In portrait mode (that I use 99.9% of the time as a moderator) the new Leaderboard bar is permanently displayed and consumes 1 of 9 available chat lines. It never autocollapses onto the extension bar. Nothing I can find (yet) will makes it go away or minimise. It permanently consumes 11% of my chat area for 100% of the stream duration. I don't need to see it 100% of the time. I don't need to see it at…

Remember on which channels I hide/show the chat We can follow Twitch channels in which we don't wanna use the chat at all for more passive style (ie: big live events) and others in which the chat is a core part of our experience (ie: small streamers with a tight-knit community).
The current behavior is for the chat to remember the last status between hidden/shown, no matter what channel you are on, I'd like it to be linked to the channel.

[Test] Happening Now Some viewers may notice prompts for key community events when chat is closed in web view and theater mode. This feature lets users know they can participate in these events when chat is not visible. By selecting the prompt, chat will open automatically and you can choose to participate in the event. The prompts will not be visible on mobile or when watching in full screen.
This feature is in limited release and we are looking to collect feedback during this time. We look forward to hearing from you!

Chat names Hey I struggle to see certain colours and I chat in people's streams alot. It would be awsome of there was a option to change people's name colour so I can see who I'm talking too as I can't find a option :)
1 voteTwitch respondedHey there!
When it comes to seeing people’s names in chat have you tried our ‘readable colors’ setting for chat? It’s located under chat settings > chat appearance > readable colors should be toggle-able. We implemented that so colors in chat would be more accessible for users.
You can find more information about chat here: https://help.twitch.tv/s/article/chat-basics

Scroll down chat comment one at a time. Have a Castor chat option to use the arrow key in the chat that allows you to scroll down chat comments 1 at a time. This way you can break away from chat to focus on content and easily pick up were you left off.

Pride Colors? I would love if Twitch could add something special for pride month! (Apart from the Pride emotes ofc!!!)
So I was thinking, what if we were to add a chat appearance setting to change your name to rainbow during pride month? it would be absolutely adorable and a way for us to all come together as one!
I don’t know if this would be possible, but it’s just an idea!

Filling the chat box with emotes should not move the emote selection dialog It's not really a 'bug' but more of a user experience issue.
When I click emotes in the emote selection drawer, the chat box fills with the text representation, and eventually the chat box auto-lengthens to accommodate increasing amounts of text. The emote I was clicking on has now moved enough pixels away such that if I do not move my cursor to adapt, I click on an unintentional emote. It is annoying to then have to delete a long string due to one single click.
Can we please change the behaviour so the chat box is perhaps static and…

Allow channel moderators to control slomode for subs and non-subs It would be a very useful option for moderators to be able to control the slowmode for subs and non-subs in the moderation settings of the broadcaster.

Ability to hide MOD BADGE The ability to hide the Mod Badge/ Sword from view.
This is especially important for communities that are on the smaller side where new viewers may be intimidated by the amount of mods with their badge chatting.
It also allows certain moderators to mod anonymously.
