Create badges that display your home country beside your name in Twitch chat A streamer I was watching (dakopall) was asking where everyone in chat was from, and suggested that Twitch should make optional badges that you could have beside your name (as with Twitch Prime, etc) to display your home country.
I think it would be a great idea to allow people to know what area of the world they're chatting with.

Basic markdown support - *italic text*,
- **bold text**,
- `Discord-style inline code` (
greetings!
), - \*escaped, non-italic text\*,
- \n, new-line (otherwise CTRL+Enter); maybe only allowed for verified bots,
- etc.
It would be really cool to have. As a streamer and bot dev, the first example that comes to mind might be:
Wrong usage. `!help <topic>` to show help about a specific topic or command.

Add The Ability To Add Nicknames To Followers There have been many times where a follower in chat has asked to be called a certain name, other than their Twitch username. If there is a way that the streamer can assign a nickname to a person in chat, that only the streamer can see, I think that would be helpful and a way to connect even better with regular viewers.

Allow the ability to switch chat to the left side of the screen Allow the option to have chat on the left side of the window and the other options like the search bar and the friends list on the right side. Reason being that with dual monitor setups, if I'm playing a game on my left monitor, the chat is much farther away from my line of vision, reducing the ability to mod effectively

Bring Voting with bits back to Polls The option to vote on polls with bits disappeared overnight with no announcement and no viable replacement.
This was a great way for viewers to financially support streamers in a way that contributed to choices made on stream (In my channel it was used for character selection within a game and variety game choice outside of the main stream game). I understand if a new concept is ready to go that creators can use as an alternative, but as long as there is no alternative, streamers who used this feature and Twitch itself will lose revenue.
I'm not sure why…

Merge chat Possibility to send a request to friends or other streamers which are streaming together to merge their chat together while they are streaming together so viewers can chat to both streamers without having to have multiple chats/streams open.

Often there's no live update for whisper For over a year now, many users have to reload the Twitch page to see new whisper.

New chat mode, 'Anti-backseat Chat Mode' An idea that would help streamers control chat from back seating when playing puzzle games.
Allowing mods to put singular users into emote only mode if repeat offenders.
Allowing extra blacklisted words and phrases to be activated when only in this mode. (blacklisting things like 'the other way' 'wrong shape' ect ect.. for aslong as the mode is active.
Adding a banner somewhere in chat or overlay somewhere letting users know anti-backseat mode is active and not to do it.

Restrict Suspicious Users without notifying them they're being restricted. The way restricting users are as they are informs the restricted user they're being restricted. If the idea is to prevent them from making another account to get around it it's probably best not to immediately tell them that they're being restricted in the first place. It would be so much handier to have someone's messages be privately seen only by the moderators before they can deduce whether someone is a repeat offender or not and lift said restriction when they come to a conclusion. Sort of like a shadow mute feature of sorts. I bring this up as someone…

Bot Chat Badge A chat badge to identify yourself in Twitch chat as a bot.
Motivation:
Twitch has been allowing users to mark accounts as Known and Verified bots for a few years now. This process is explained in detail in the official developer documentation. This is documented here: https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/irc/guide#known-and-verified-bots
There are more than 18,065 Known Bots on Twitch. Among them, we are also a Verified Bot used by more than 700,000 streamers.
We get all DMs in Slack channels and regularly check how users interact with our Verified Bot. Unfortunately, we often find that users mistake the account for a real lurker,…

Add 24 hours timestamp format To turn on or off the timestamp for chatmessages is a great feature but, it's very annoying you can't select 24 hours format. Please add an option to select between 12 and 24 hour time format.

Review the user experience for new Chat Replies Please get some community feedback on how this should be added, modifications to chat greatly impact every community.
This idea makes sense, and I welcome and encourage it. This will be useful for mods and broadcasters to easily show they've responded to a question or concern, group bot replies and overall improve the chat experience, but its current implementation is messy. Consider reviewing the user experience that this holds. Although early and only a snippet of what the FrankerFaceZ maintainer has done, here is a prime example of a much better integration you could have:

Add emote reactions to individual chat messages, like Discord Often I see someone's chat message and I just want to react with an emoji/emote, but replying and tagging the user with just an emote isn't really the same and can get spammy, especially with multiple reactions from different people. This is DEEPLY ingrained in Discord culture, and seeing your message get several reactions is quite rewarding.
Attaching the reaction to the chat message would increase engagement and decrease spam. It would also increase the value of unique channel emotes by adding new contexts for their use.

Allow moderators to send messages to live chat that are only visible to other moderators/broadcaster. Much how moderators can use /announce to broadcast a message, moderators should have the ability to send a message in chat that is only visible to other mods and the broadcaster.
Implementing this would limit having to alt-tab over to Discord to speak in a separate private channel and only engage with other active mods in chat which helps for context when discussing issues.

'@@[username]' to reply to last message by user When replying to users, an individual is required to remove their hand from the keyboard to the mouse to click on the message of the user.
For a smoother replying experience, more in-line with the current practice of using '@', I would suggest offering '@@[user]' to reply to the thread containing the last message of that user. If there is no last message, this would default to '@' behaviour.
This update would improve accessibility for users that have difficulty using a mouse and also facilitates ease-of-use for those without accessibility requirements. Overall I believe this would improve the utility of,…39 votes -
Allow mods to remove a single message Currently, removing a viewer's message also removes the previous message. Allow the removal of a single message.

Add link whitelist The same way you can blacklist and whitelist terms in the chat, it would be useful to be able to whitelist links in the chat. Using a bot for this is not ideal because the links is deleted by the bot and still visible to users with extensions. Messages with links should not be sent at all and some links/domains should be whitelistable

Display names should only show up in stream chats that use the language of it Say you have a Japanese display name and like to watch English streams and are English, the English streamers cant read your name because most of them use extensions which cause it to only show the Japanese lettering and not the English in parenthesis. So if youre in an English chat your display name should automatically be only English if you choose and If youre in other language you can have a non-English display name

Off-line Chat features To help combat hate raids while streamers are off-line, how about a feature to disable chat when a streamer is offline? It can be a simple feature toggle "Disable off-line chat", or even include the ability for viewers to chat for a period of time after the end of stream before disabling. Also, a switch would allow streamers to leave it on, in case they use it for community features.

Make replies an extra tab If you want to make it easier for users to follow a conversation (which is a good idea, even if this implementation seems messy), let their @ mentions be a separate tab that they can click into and see, rather than cluttering the main chat experience.
