Banning words
I've seen that Twitch has been banning of words like 'simp', 'incel', and 'virgin'. These are mostly terms used towards males, yet horrifically offensive terms like "bitch" , "pussy" , "cunt" which are used to belittle and demean Women are not? It is used to belittle and offend Men, and sometimes women and put them down, in the most horrific way and has been used for years as a sexist term to say that someone is less of a person or 'inferior because they are a women' so they call them either a "bitch" , a "pussy" or a "cunt". I see you have removed words to protect men, but attacking women and referencing their body parts as a mean to shame people shouldn't be acceptable. I feel these are worse terms than 'simp', 'incel', and 'virgin'. and IF you were going so far as to ban 3 words used to put down men....then the same should be done to protect Women.

Responding in 2022, I agree with VexxedFPS here they censor enough on Twitch, and I also agree that would kill the platform. As a creator
who is 18+, LGBTQ+, and female I often have to remember not to say certain words other people would find offensive even though im apart of those groups. For this reason I'm 18+^. If I had to remember even more words not to say I'd probably lose my channel as it is hard enough as it is. **** is my favorite insult that is said not intending to be sexist towards other women but used even towards my male friends for them being "butt heads". Intentions are everything but just because certain people are snow flakes doesn't mean everyone is going to find the same things offensive and certain words shouldn't be banned because of this. You shouldn't force your beliefs on others. I'm for actually removing some of the word on the ban list, not add them. -

wow the comments are extremely inappropriate but I completely agree with sailormoon_cuddles . If twitch decides some words should be censored then all derogatory words pertaining to sex/race/religion should also be banned. One thing I'd like to point out though is that simp, incel, and virgin are not at all words that only refer to men. Not even a little bit. Banning *****, *****, and **** are not particularly good words to ban because ***** and ***** have other meanings that are not derogatory and the word **** is almost used a day to day greeting in the UK or Australia. What might be a good idea is to allow the streamer to set a list of banned words that auto times out a person for a set period when they use the words. just my 2 cents

No, they censor enough on Twitch and that would kill the platform. None of them are slurs in any way. Just because you feel offended by them does not mean the majority of those on the platform does. If you don't like it don't watch streamers that use those words. There are streamers that are 18+ for a reason.

Has there been any response to this? Is there anything else we can do to get traction?
