Verified status for everyone and /verifiedonly chat mode
I would appreciate a very helpful feature for a lot of streams.
Feature/Requirements:
1) Make verifications and a verified status available for every user
2) Mark verified users with a badge on the profile page
3) Mark verified users with a badge in the chat
4) Implement a /verifiedonly chat mode
5) Link multiple accounts to the same verification
Pros:
With the above mentioned features Twitch would become a safer and nicer place for everyone.
With the option for users to verify their accounts with their ID card, driver's license, or Amazon account and a chat mode for verified users only, a lot of spam, scam, harmful behavior, and ban evasions could be prevented. A chat ban of a verified account results in a ban for all the accounts linked to the same verification. Also a platform ban of a verified account results in a ban for all the accounts linked to the same verification. This procedure would make ban evasion more harder.
Cons:
This would result in a higher administration effort.

Top. Damit könne Leute die hassrede, frauenfeindliche inhalte, Drohungen schreiben oder betrug/abzocke (scams) betreiben direkt von twitch gebannt werden und auch angezeigt werden.👍

Would be great to have the verification mark like it can be a different colour to partner so it will be easier to identify between bots and real people chatting and knowing that its a proper account then an AI one controlled by a bot, to keep our community safe from potential scammed by these bots.

I will never provide an entity like Twitch with personal identity information. This kind of requirement is exceeding the scope of their service. KYC (know your customer or client) is most often implemented by entities that are financial in nature. What are viewers to gain by providing this kind of identity information that has not already been available. By going down this path Twitch will be creating additional barriers for new and current viewers, which will be a detriment to their experience.
Casual viewers on Twitch rarely go beyond watching streams and brief interactions in chat. When I am viewing a stream that has "Verified Accounts Only Chat" enabled I feel less interested, as a layer of interaction is essentially locked out.
I have the Authy 2FA enabled on my account, it is also linked to my Amazon account and yet this is not enough to fulfill the verification requirement. It still has a separate data field for a mobile phone number... that is unacceptable. My mobile number is strictly for personal and business use, not for identity verification on a social media platform whose security is a big question mark.
Asking anything more than that for casual viewers is excessive and boarders on intrusive. This level of personal data is something that Twitch has no valid reason to access.
Edit: comment - SMS is not a legitimate security measure for second factor authentication. In the last couple of years with the proliferation of crypto currency, there have been numerous mass SIM swapping campaigns pushed upon exposed mobile numbers, often not even involving the owner. Social engineering manipulating weaknesses in the mobile providers account management have permitted hijacking of numbers by malicious parties.

I would not want to send my documents to twitch.
I think Twitch should give users more power to fight spam WITHOUT needing Twitch to babysit us:

requiring 2fa is a better idea, do you *really* want twitch holding on to a scan of your driver's license? that's one data breach away from the whole internet having a scan of your driver's license.

Cons: Twitch would become a repository of very detailed personal data for hundreds of millions of users, making it a very interesting hack target.
