Restricted mode for chat
A possible idea that would be beneficial to both Twitch and their (popular) streamers is a 'restricted' mode for chat; it’d work the same as sub-only mode, but also include former subscribers and current turbo users. The benefits would include:
- Strong incentive for viewers to purchase Turbo. Those who have Turbo would be able to talk in any chat with restricted mode on.
- Streamers who like to interact with their chat, but have sub-only mode enabled to keep it from moving too quickly, could use this instead.
- Great incentive for viewers to subscribe to a channel with it enabled, as it gives them permanent access to the chat.
From a viewer point-of-view, they would have the option to subscribe once for permanent access to the chat they like, or pay for Turbo for global access to all channels with restricted mode on. It'd only work well if both former subscribers and turbo users were included. If only former subscribers were whitelisted, it wouldn't be much of a change from sub-only. If only turbo users were whitelisted, streamers wouldn't see much point in using it.
